Interesting Observation Regarding Member's Ages

I am 20 and a college student. My fiance and I are both Objectivists. Right now, I discuss philosophy a lot, and I spend a lot of time on the internet. In a few years, my career and my family will take up a lot of my time, and I will be less likely to discuss philosophy online. I will not grow out of my values, Objectivism is here to stay. It always amuses me when someone says that Objectivism is a philosophy that young people have and they will grow out of it. I know so many teenagers and young adults that seem to be throwing their lives away. They act like the world owes them a living. I would be thrilled if more young people held Objectivist views. I haven't met one person, other than online, that holds the same values as I do. I see more self-destructive behavior among teenagers. I would be happy to see more young rational individuals. -
I am a 20 year old student from Oklahoma. I have very diverse interests. I first heard the term objectivist a couple of years ago after becoming a huge fan of Terry Goodkind. I didn't at that time deem myself objectivist, having been raised in a strong christian influenced environment. After several months an individual on Terry Goodkind's official forum posted an essay which made me rethink my reasoning behind my beliefs, and I started studying up on objectivism. I have read some essays and two works of Ayn Rand Anthem, and The Fountainhead. I am currently reading Atlas Shrugged. I found this board during one of my objectivist searches and I thought it would be fun and educational to talk to other likeminded individuals. So, here I am.
