The recent string of attack ads on various philosophers, especially my favorite ad, "Kierkegaard in '08"

The "Kant attack ad"

In response, the "Nietzsche Attack Ad"

And, in response to both, "Kierkegaard in '08"

The "Paid for by" in the last video is hilarious.

MrCropper, who Ifat mentioned and whose videos I also like, has just posted
about, I guess, post-modernists. I personally don't know many post-modernists, so for me the video is a rant about people who talk in circles with metaphors. And also Cropper is just hilarious.

A mere 31 million views. Wow, those guys are missing out on lots of money by giving that away free.

If I recall correctly, the tourist who took the video sold it to National Geographic, so I would imagine he's making a pretty penny off his vacation video. He also has a website here, but I'm not sure if it generates any income.

Here's a YouTube video/commercial that uses a recording of Renee Olstead singing "Taking a Chance on Love" for the background.

This woman has real talent, and I want to hear more of her. I selected this particular YouTube because I like the recording used here better than her live performance, though that is excellent, too.

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVRXdSJz95U.

These have been around for a few months and I'm surprised I've only stumbled upon them a few weeks ago. A few actors reenact various Garfield strips, and then after the reenactment it turns into a short music video.

Here's one of my favorite ones, though the Youtube channel contains dozens of these videos, all at the same level of quality:

Jon finds Garfield doing a funky dance, and then asks him to show him how he does it.

Another one of my favorites is when Jon forces Garfield to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UdvyPPvDwQ.

Not a youtube video but a hilarious send-up of the ongoing Jeremiah Wright & Obama scandal:

http://www.hulu.com/watch/18852/late-night...ah-wright-43008

This is my favorite part:

WRIGHT: I'm not finished: Goddamn North America. Goddamn South America, Miss America, Six Flags over Great America. Goddamn American Idol, America's Got Talent, America's Next Top Model. Goddamn America Ferrera, An American Tail: Fievel Goes West....

O'BRIEN: Wait a minute. What the hell are you talking about?

WRIGHT: Everyone knows Fievel Goes West is the worst in the whole series. Goddamn Fievel Goes West.

O'BRIEN: Alright, alright.

This is probably both the greatest song and the greatest music video of all time.

Metallica - One ( Set to the movie " Johnny Got His Gun " )

I've only recently been able to watch YouTube videos, as I don't have high speed Internet at home, but this girl is beautiful and sexy, and has a passion for the meaning of words. She has a whole website of short videos that I came across via YouTube.

http://www.hotforwords.com/

One of my favorites is her review of "sniglets", which means words that are not in the dictionary but ought to be -- i.e. newly coined words.

High speed Internet opens up a whole new world. For example, you wouldn't know that quantum mechanics occurs in real life, until you view this video:

Why quantum mechanics? Because the Copenhagen interpretation says that what really happens is only what we can detect, but instead of saying it is a like a stop motion video, they say the quantum particles do these weird things because that is what we detect with our detectors. There isn't anything happening in between the photo-shots, and they claim that the uncertainty principle means we can never know what happens in between photo-shots. In other words, if the principles of the quantum mechanics of the Copenhagen interpretation were used to analyze this video, well one couldn't say with any certainty what these guys were doing that wasn't caught on tape -- they really are floating in space with no support!
