2046
The Los Angeles County coroner has ruled that Michael Jackson's death was a homicide, making it likely that criminal charges against his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murphy, will be forthcoming shortly. Jackson's sister La Toya stated from the beginning that she thought he was murdered. Michael Jackson held two secret email accounts which he used to buy prescription drugs, it was claimed today. The coroner found a potentially lethal amount of the anesthetic Propofol in Michael Jackson's body, according to a search warrant affidavit unsealed today in Houston along with other drugs. Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, admitted to using the anesthetic on Jackson for about six weeks to treat his insomnia. I figured it would be ruled a suicide due to the voluntary nature with which Jackson put the drugs in his body, and voluntarily consented to another individual to put them in his body, specifically hired for that purpose. I thought that maybe involuntary manslaughter charges for Dr. Conrad Murray at the worst, if the public became outraged, but police are treating the events surrounding Jackson's death with upmost seriousness. Is this reaction due to Jackson's popularity, or would a homeless junkie found dead in the gutters be given the same consideration? The autopsy conducted found deadly amounts of of the anesthetic Propofol in Mr. Jackson's body. Murray first started with 50 mg of Propofol every night using direct intravenous administration. Worried that Jackson was becoming addicted, he tried to wean him off by lowering the dosage to 25 mg and mixing it with two other sedatives, Lorazepam and Midazolam. Two days before Jackson died, he gave him the same cocktail but withheld the Propofol. On the day of his death, Murray tried to get Michael to sleep by giving him valium at 0130. When that didn’t work, he injected Lorazepam through an IV at 0200. and 0300. Then he gave him Midazolam and various other drugs over the next few hours. At 1040 Dr. Murray gave Jackson 25 mg of Propofol after Jackson demanded it. After he gave him the Propofol, the doctor went to the bathroom. When he came back 2 minutes later, Jackson was not breathing. Cops found 8 bottles of Propofol in Jackson's home, but none of it traces back to Dr. Conrad Murray. They aren't sure who purchased it or where. Other pills and vials found in Michael's house were prescribed by various doctors including Dr. Conrad Murray, Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Allan Metzger. So the question is, since it is apparent that Jackson voluntarily sought to have these drugs put into his body, is he a "victim" and if not, does this constitute murder, or manslaughter, or is it even "a crime" as it appears Dr. Conrad Murray will face charges. Jake_Ellison
It is not a violation of rights. Michael Jackson had the right to use whatever drugs he wanted to use, no matter how dangerous. Giving someone something "potentially lethal", if they ask for it, is not a violation of his rights. But we have a war on drugs going on. They could've charged Michael too, just for taking those drugs, if he would've survived. Now they're going to go after the doctor, and no one can predict what the end result will be, because the standard is not "violation of rights". It's gonna be a senseless, arbitrary sentence. D'kian
So the question is, since it is apparent that Jackson voluntarily sought to have these drugs put into his body, is he a "victim" and if not, does this constitute murder, or manslaughter, or is it even "a crime" as it appears Dr. Conrad Murray will face charges. It largely depends on the doctor's intent. Keep in mind what we knwo of his story may or may not be accurate. For all we know he never warned Jackson of the danger, or overdosed him accidentally or on purpose, or let him have a bottle of the stuff and told him to adminsiter it himself. All this needs to be determined by a police investigation.
