Hello,

This is actually my first post, because all of my questions on Objectivism I was able to find in old threads. So thank you for such an informative forum :)

Just recently my girlfriend bought me a shirt; here is a link to it:

For me, I see it as hilarious satire; a mockery on the Communist Party. Like the famous Communist cant be taken serious in their philosophy because they are "partiers", if you will.

Yet at the same time I dont want people calling me a Commie. As if Im showing some support to the Communist Party with a touch of humor.

What do you guys think?

Well, I don't find communism at all funny. The various refugees from behind the Iron Curtain that I know don't find it particularly funny. I don't think, though, that many people are likely to think that you're a communist based on that T-shirt, but they might have some negative thoughts about your taste. You should try to locate some people whose friends and family were executed by Mao, Stalin or Castro, because they would probably have the strongest feelings about the matter.

Thats true, the shirt overall is in bad taste to begin with. Probably going to be sending it back...

What David said- unlikely that anyone would take you for a communist but anyone of merit would definitely question your judgement.

When engaging with "humorous" socialist, marxist & communist items it is good to bear in mind that these things are only "humorous" to spoiled children who enjoyed peace and prosperity purchased by the efforts of others. And like anything unearned they do not know how to appreciate it so they are tearing it down.

Nothing good can come of your wearing this item.
