Greebo
http://www.ajc.com/news/clayton/fbi-sovereign-citizen-cases-861611.html I've already seen one person who's a staunch libertarian be accused of agreeing with/supporting the thuggish anarchistic actions of the people in this article. It's up there with the "Somalia is your paradise" arguments. Edited March 10, 2011 by Greebo
rebelconservative
I don't see how anyone could accuse an Objectivist of agreeing with that nonsense. These people are nothing more than your garden variety anarchist squatters. We have a terrible problem with them in the UK (particularly London) as the law is heavily weighted in their favour, not the property owner. And there is no such things as anarchy, governments of one kind or another always emerge.

Greebo
Well somalia is better of than it was before. Other than that it is just a medieval country. Libertarians aren't medievalists. And there is no such things as anarchy, governments of one kind or another always emerge. The point is that anti-rationalists will frequently point at countries like Somalia and say, "There's your utopia for you" - as if Somalia in ANY way reflects what we talk about when we discuss the proper function of Government. This squatter activity will simply give those types more straw-men to point at and as I said - it's already been done with someone I call a friend (despite his being a Libertarian )
