So they say it will be the same oil we have now, except a de-pollutant, so it will absorb Co2 instead of release it. It's a relatively small project now, but they estimate being able to produce over a million barrels a day in 10 years.

Wouldn't it be hilarious (and dare I say, likely) if this kicked in, and environmentalists started screaming about the lack of Co2?

Sounds like they're well on their way to swindling some money out of the European bureaucracy. Might have to face some stiff competition though, they're not the only ones adopting the "talk to the government about some subsidies" business model in Europe these days.
