Ninth Doctor
The ARI bookstore has been promising to put out the back catalog on MP3's for quite a while now. Maybe you should email them and ask for a ETA on this one being re-released.

JASKN
First five lectures in written form: http://www.capitalism.net/Peikoff.htm Buyer beware: their customer service is horrible and they take months to ship the material.

I bought them and they shipped promptly to me. After having read the first five I really want the rest of them now.

epistemologue
Patience, Daniel-san! ARI will have them again soon. I'm not very patient, and I'm skeptical they are going to move this forward anytime soon...

Atlas51184
Windelband's History of Philosophy was for a long time a must read for Objectivists. I think LP recommends it in his course. It might hold you over for a few months while you wait for ARB to release the LP course. Jones' multivolume History is also frequently recommended. AlexL
Hi, Does anyone have an idea about the current market value of "The History..." on tape cassettes? In 1994 it was sold by the Second Renaissance for 2 x 295 US$ , Parts 1 and 2. TIA Alex
Ninth Doctor
I will pay nearly anything to get my hands on these lecture courses. Man you are persistent! What you ought to do is name the price you are willing to pay. I know someone who has the course, but I know he isn’t interested in selling. However, if it turned out that ARI is about to sell it for, say, $100 as mp3 files, due to come out next month, while you’re willing to pay $1,000 for his 20 year old cassettes right now, because dammit, you just gotta have it tout de suite, I wouldn’t be surprised if his “buy low sell high” instincts kicked in. He’s only a rare, casual lurker in online Rand-land, so good chance he hasn’t seen this. Name your best price and I’ll email him a link to this thread. softwareNerd
The top-most item on the ARI Bookstore site is this special announcement: The Ayn Rand Bookstore is pleased to announce a major new initiative: the conversion of our self-published audio and video products to downloadable formats. We have entered into a contract with a software firm to redesign our online store for electronic delivery of many audio and video products. We plan to launch the new site with its first wave of downloadable products within a few months. Because of this, we are in a position to sell off our current CD and DVD products, while supplies last. We have created a 50% discount on CD and DVD products published by the Ayn Rand Bookstore. Sale prices will remain effective until all of our existing CD and DVD inventory is sold out. Recordings will be reintroduced in downloadable formats. Ninth Doctor
Alrightee, I sent off the email. Can't guarantee there'll even be a reply. The guy's something of an Objectivist pack rat, has LP's of NBI lectures, the original We the Living...people get attached to their collections. JASKN
The OO.com facebook page has posted an alert of sorts about your $600 offer, too. Good luck!
Ninth Doctor
Alrightee, I sent off the email. Can't guarantee there'll even be a reply. I got a reply back. No dice, not interested. But he’s looking forward to coughing up for the MP3’s…I mention this in case anyone from the Ayn Rand Bookstore is monitoring the thread. Hi, is there any chance he would be interested in lending them to me for a short time? I would be willing to pay! I really really want to get my hands on these lectures! Ninth Doctor
Hi, is there any chance he would be interested in lending them to me for a short time? I would be willing to pay! I really really want to get my hands on these lectures! Believe me, it's hopeless. He's not going to give up custody, and he isn't going to run off copies either, if you were thinking of that. Not for a stranger...hell I doubt he'd even let me borrow them now, knowing that they might be irreplaceable, and I've known him well over 20 years. Like I said before, some people get really attached to their collections.
