Anyone read any of the other books written by Edward Cline, other than the Sparrowhawk series?
I've read two (I think the names were "First Prize" and "Whisper the Guns". Both had mysteries/detective type plots. My guess is that most readers will find them a little less than his Sparrowhead books. So, if you thought his Sparrowhead books were nice enough, you'll probably find these books nice enough too but not worth going out of your way for. However, if you found his Sparrowhead books to be exceptionally excellent, you should probably get these too.

The Sparrowhawk series(imho) is fantastic. I remember having to painfully await the publication of the individual books. Mr. Cline is 'the man.'

In the genre of historic fiction I also very much enjoyed Patrick O'Brian , his "Master and Commander" series, and the Hornblower series of C.S. Forester.

I think they were all out when I read them, even the Companion book to the series.

Thanks, softwarenerd. I will look at each books description to see what they are about, what genre, etc.

I believe selected excerpts were published in the Atlantic monthly prior to being published. Actually I don't recall the exact title of the publication , but it was a perhaps a quarterly art review.
