intellectualammo
I don't know much about Glenn Beck but this is in the news. His Independence Park: http://www.truthdig.com/avbooth/item/glenn_beck_plans_to_build_libertarian_commune_inspired_by_ayn_rand_20130113/
Hairnet
Sounds like a stupid publicity stunt. It doesn't really have anything to do with Ayn Rand. As if Ayn Rand was the only person who had ever concieved of going separate ways with society.

It would be horrible if Rand were associated with a moron like Beck. Edited January 15, 2013 by softwareNerd
aleph_1
Yes. If glen Beck is behind it, it will be a New Jerusalem rather than a Galt's Gulch. It would be horrible if Rand were associated with a moron like Beck. Glen Beck is a Mormon, and they have a long history of survivalism, as well as separatism. This planned society would enshrine irrationality as its philosophical base.
CptnChan
In Beck's fictional book "The Overton Window" the character finds rebels living apart from society. Of course, Ray Bradbury did it before AS. Obviously not before the concept was born, but Fahrenheit 451 came out before AS.
