Dead Author Podcast with Ayn Rand

I don't think this had been posted and I'm not sure if this is the place to do it since, "Intellectuals and the Media" seemed to be for more news-y items.

The Upright Citizens Brigade has a podcast where they interview dead authors. An actor pretending to be a time-travelling H.G. Wells (the interviewer) and some dead author talk. It's pretty funny stuff. They've done Ayn Rand for their 20th episode and John Hodgeman plays her. He does a weirdly good impression and it's obvious he's read at least a good deal of Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. While it's certainly not pro-Rand, it's not quite as disrespectful as most mentions of her in the media.

Give it a listen.

Was she addicted to amphetamines?

Probably about as much as I'm addicted to ritalin. I'm not. But since I do have ADD, it's a medicine that helps me to focus and helps me to get my work done. As far as I'm concerned, even for a person without ADD, if they find that a drug such as ritalin or adderall, or something in the future, gives them a mental boost, and if there is little to no negative side effects, I don't see what would be wrong with using it. There is no evidence or reason to believe she was addicted to them, or that she abused them, so chalk this one up to another personal pot-shot taken by haters of Ayn Rand.
