dream_weaver
Ghate's illustrates/demonstrates the ability to discuss the ridiculing of religion without actually resorting to ridicule. His example of how the media handled Geller, is something that leads many people to view these activities as antagonistic, or acts of provocation, completely switching the role of who is the provocateur. Plasmatic
Greg, are you suggesting that Ghate does not advocate for ridicule of religion in this lecture?
dream_weaver
No. Only that he does not resort to ridicule in discussing it. Paraphrased notes: The ability to criticize, satirize and mock is needed to marginalize religion.Religion needs to be marginalized, not tamed. Religion needs to be caged or muzzled may be better terms.
