  1. Christopher Hitchens (who was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer) examines the Ten Commandments, then offers up his own updated version of the decalogue for our times:
  2. Yes, I would shake his hand only because I would want to show respect for the elected office he holds, not necessarily for the man himself.
  3. That's certainly an important point. There's a big difference between a desperate 20-something single mom who pole-dances to Motley Crue in some dive bar, and a woman with a background in theater and costume design who produces her own burlesque shows (i.e. like this gal here in Los Angeles).
  4. A classic bit from Howard Stern's radio show back in 1996. An "old crow" calls in yells at Howard.
  5. Escape 2000 (aka Escape from the Bronx) was a favorite of mine. I also liked The Incredible Melting Man episode.
  6. From Carl Sagan's Cosmos, a condensed history of "The Beginning." I particularly the music of Vangelis in this sequence:
  7. The most interesting NON-POLITICAL news story for me over this past weekend was that James Randi, one of the leading proponents of the scientific skepticism, is in fact a gay man. He chose to come "out of the closet" this past weekend on his blog and on an internet radio show. Here's a link to his interview with the radio show "For Good Reason with D.J. Grothe": James Randi: A Skeptic Comes Out at 81
  8. Video of a very sexy Lebanese belly dancer (guys try not droll too much): http://www.metacafe.com/watch/137277/belly_dancegg/
  9. I just found this very cool news story about Choi Hyun-mi, a 19 year old North Korean defector who has found fame and fortune as a female boxing champion. Here's a YouTube video (interestingly from Al-Jazeera English) about her story: And here's a print story about her: Defector Conquers Women's Boxing for Family's Sake
  10. The Onion had a really funny obituary for J.D. Salinger: Bunch of Phonies Mourn J.D. Salinger
  11. In case anyone hasn't seen this, Jon Stewart ripped Chris Matthews on The Daily Show: http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/92750/
  12. I remember reading somewhere that Ayn Rand really liked the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsRnQQpklPM.
  13. Howard Stern making fun of an Intelligent Design video starring Kirk Cameron. Be warned, there's some salty language in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eliACwBkBw
  14. X-Games Superstar Travis Pastrana doing his famous double flip on his dirt bike.
  15. Here's an interesting speech from the Nuremberg rallies:
