vita
I'm trying to figure out which book mrs.rand wrote regarding metaphysics. Is it "Philosophy, who needs it?" Or is it "for the new intellectual"? Thanks.
Eiuol
Neither. She didn't write a book devoted to metaphysics. You'll find a lot of her ideas on metaphysics throughout all her non-fiction. What in particular do you want to know?
vita
Just a concise overview of the metaphysics like she has for the other subjects, such as epistemology or aesthetics
Eiuol
Nothing by Rand at least. ITOE is probably best. There isn't a lot to say about metaphysics specifically in Objectivism besides the three axioms, the consideration of entities-units-existents, and how essences are epistemological rather than metaphysical. Those are all in ITOE. Â The metaphysical vs. the man-made distinction is in Philosophy: Who Needs It. Â There's always Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand by Peikoff if you want an overview. Â Besides those, you'll find her positions regarding metaphysics are spread across a lot of work. JASKN
You could also try searching the Lexicon under "M".
