  1. Jonathan, yes, and that is what I was trying to convey in my comment-- with the distinction that I believe we can create, in reality, the kind of fictional world we imagine. ?

  2. Of course, this is *not* easy. It is a lengthy, difficult process of first recognizing and honestly evaluating yourself, then having the integrity and courage to do real-life things which, you hope, will affect you positively, though there is a risk it will not because you are mistaken, or that the results will be less than you hoped for. Discouragement will be mixed with bursts of pleasure, and perspective will be difficult to maintain sometimes. The simple statement, "I think you should just get different self esteem!" really short changes the enormous time and effort behind the process of actually achieving higher self esteem.

  3. http://heritage.org/index/country/norway The Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom ranks Norway the 40th freest economy in the world. The index is by no means perfect, but its lists a lot ways in which Norway is no socialistic including its efficient judicial system, low inflation, relatively light business regulations, and lack of trade barriers.

  5. I want Obama out because of what I understand to be his motivating philosophy, and as evidence his choices for people he put into power in the executive office. To not see their naked socialism and recognize it as such is a little baffling to me. Collectivists of all various ilks seek power in order to further their agendas. While vanilla candidates from other parties may not be ideal, not voting against a known, proven, dedicated collectivist is I think a position I can't wrap my head around so to speak. As far as I understand it, to truly cast a ballot against Obama one must cast a ballot for Romney, all other scenarios are equivalent to not changing any advantage an incumbent candidate enjoys
