    Right to Life

    source
    By source,
Hi. I just finished this article and placed it on my site (link in my sig). I'd just like some feedback. Thanks. Right to Life Huge debates today are raised over issues of the right to life. Does an unborn child have the right to life? Does a mother have the right to abort the unborn child? Should euthanasia be allowed? Do fetuses have rights? Politicians are working overtime to make a law which would ban abortion and euthanasia and cloning. Human rights organizations are performing ev

    Seizure Of Property Rights

    HaloNoble6
    By HaloNoble6,
King County, Oregon officials are considering passing a law that will prohibit private land owners from using 65% percent of their land in order to preserve "natural vegetation." Read the Fox News article here. In terms of activism, what can one do to directly deter things like this from being successful? Is there anyone in this forum that lives in county?

    Homogenization

    By aynfan,
Many in our country believe we are endangered by Balkanization; that a lack of association and the exchange of ideas among the social classes, and e.g., the universtiy educated and the uneducated, or "unmelted" emmigrants has led to the divide. They believe the remedy lies in some sort of national service or a draft. But, the proposed remedy is clearly immoral. Is homogenization a worthy goal? Do we need to stir the melting pot, before civility and disciple can return to American soci

    The Future Of California

    Pericles(MBA)
    By Pericles(MBA),
Since California is probably my favorite place on earth, I am always concerned to hear about bad political ideas coming from there (especially since I hope to live there someday). Cafornia has so much going for it in my opinion, in terms of culture, climate, and industry. From what I understand the state is nearly bankrupt, yet continues to spend on welfare programs. The environmental movement has made it impossible for development to occur, and the Mexican population is poorly assimil

    Canada

    By Axiom,
For those of you who haven't heard but are at least remotely interested, the Liberals won again in Canada. They've got a minority government this time (i.e, less than 50% of the seats in the house) but I don't think they will have any trouble keeping up the march towards socialism - not with the NDP (the actual communist party) having more than enough seats to make up the difference. So for all of you who live in Canada and predicted a conservative victory, I must now officially claim my I-

    Kerry On War

    Ed from OC
    By Ed from OC,
I'm sure several on this forum have looked into Kerry's views and record to see what kind of President he would be. Above all else in the upcoming election, the way he would prosedute the war on terrorism would determine for whom I would vote. So I'd like to get some reliable info on Kerry's views. I've heard a number of rumors, but haven't looked into them enough yet. Questions I have: Does he view the war on terrorism as an actual war, or as a criminal matter? Would he ap

This decision opens the door to all kinds of abuse by rogue police officers. Is there an up side to this decision that I am missing?

    How To Ensure Fair Treatment

    F*ckCommunism
    By F*ckCommunism,
I would believe in a freemarket with no government interference if i thought that the business owners would treat their employees fairly... It makes sense to me that in the quest to create and to earn money from your creations, the people who you employ should be given fair wages, decent benefits, and proper shares of the profits... Bythat i mean bonuses based on productivity, paid vacation and sick time, insurance and benefits subsidised by the company, all based on the profits and growth

    Democracy In Iran

    rafiq
    By rafiq,
In the Amercian Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote: "... all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed." As an Iraqi, I fear the future. The dictator is gone, but I'm not really sure. The Americans have handed him back to the Iraqis. What if he is freed again? He was on TV yesterday, looking dapper. Even if he is killed, who will
