    Objectivism Is The Everyman's Philosophy

In the universe, what you see is what you get,

figuring it out for yourself is the way to happiness,

and each person's independence is respected by all

    N.Korean train collision

    By bnittoli,
Not a lot of details in the story yet about the north korean train collision that might have killed 3000 people, but the description of their infrastructure sounds an awful like the series of events that led up to destruction of the Comet and Taggart Tunnel in AS. Not that I'm surprised.

    Ted Galen Carpenter Strikes Again

    By AutoJC,
Here We Go Again, Yet Another Anti-Iraq Editorial from Cato Should we cut our losses and bail out of Iraq? Was Iraq the "wrong war?" Moreover, has Iraq become another Vietnam? The editorial ignores the basic fundamental difference between the Iraq enemy and the Vietnam "enemy." In Iraq, the enemy is of the same caliber as those who attacked America on September 11th, with a similar mission. I was against the war in VietNam. I didn't see that it had anything to do with

    An opinion

    By amorparatodavida,
I have an essay I wrote on my take on originality, for a local zine. It's not too great, because I wrote it awhile ago. Now I'm giving you guys the choice. You can read, and probably have a good laugh at my amateur works. I thought it was o.k. for the age I wrote it at. Or you can tell me no thanks and I'll delete this post. Up to you guys; I don't want to fill the site with boring stuff unless you want to read it

    String Theory

    By JRoberts,
What are your thoughts on String Theory?

    Andrew Carnegie

    By TheCerebro,
I have been studying the lives and beliefs of the early industrialists i.e. Andrew Carnegie. Ford, JP Morgan, Rockafellar etc. and found many were actually socialists. Andrew Carnegie in particular, who wrote the "Gospel of Wealth" in which he said the rich should live simply and be philanthropists, while throwing around terms like "workingman". I am wondering if anyone knew how it is these men could hold such contradictory views. It was their money that built our modern schooling (yes, Roc

    1st of May

    By Gabriel,
I wrote a short entry on the 1st of May on my site. I think it's high time to salvage this day from self-rightous high-brow marxists and other leeches. Tell me what you think, and leave a comment if you'd like.

    Nice Meeting Y'all

    By AwakeAndFree,
Hello everyone. My name is Eran Dror. Born 1980. Objectivist since 1998. I got to here after a recommendation from MinorityOfOne. I live in Haifa, Israel, and will soon get my B.A. in History from the University of Haifa. My career goal is becoming a fiction writer, in the English language. I've wanted to write from a very young age. Around August of this year I plan to move to the United States with the purpose of immigration. For the past 4.5 years I've been working as a

    ARI Summer Conference

    By DPW,
I will be attending the second week this year's summer conference, and I was wondering who else plans on attending.

    By dark_stranger,
Greetings everyone, I am new here, but glad to have found this place! It seems there are voices all around me every day telling me things that don't make sense. You see, I'm in San Francisco. We draw the homeless from all over the country because our city is so 'generous'. Our generosity has earned the city a $150+ million deficit. Horrifying. I am surrounded on all sides by people who feel that the rich are evil and greedy, and should be made to pay. They think that being

    Another from the Left Coast

    By khaight,
I guess I'll toss my hat into the ring. I'm a software engineer living with my wife and pet bird in San Jose, CA. My initial introduction to Objectivism was from a girl in high school. She pestered me for six months to read The Fountainhead, claiming that it was "the most rational thing" I would ever read. She was mostly right. I went through a libertarian/anarchist phase in college, but I got better. I've been studying Objectivism on-and-off for the last 10 years or so. (S
