  1. Bush has pledged aid to the countries hit by today's tsunamis and earthquakes. Does this piss everyone else off as bad as it pisses me off?
  2. This post would make a good point if he hadn't been rescheduled for this Friday.

She discussed it with people that I don't know. And it doesn't really bother me, so I fail to see how this is any worse. It's not like anyone on here knows who I am...much less, who she is.

Whoa, whoa...what? No, I'm sure that I'm going to marry her, barring some kind of catastrophe that separates us. We just aren't officially engaged yet, i.e. there isn't an engagement ring on her finger and we haven't started planning a wedding yet. I don't see how anything I've said is disrespectful to her or her family. My "I'm horny now" comment was just meant to illustrate the way my views on premarital sex evolved over the years. I'm glad that I was forced to wait until I found her...that was my whole point.
  5. I've always wondered the same thing. As for my list: 1.) Dances with Wolves 2.) Once upon a Time in America 3.) Lord of the Rings Trilogy 4.) The Matrix 5.) American Beauty

lol, I like the way you phrased that
  7. Since it's about the Iraq war, they would probably be in agreement w/ each other.
  8. So, you'd be taking them away from slavery...and, in return, making them your own slaves? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
  9. It's a stepping stone...of course the government isn't perfect, but it's better than it was.
  10. Very well, here are the reasons...I'll give broad reasons, since more specific ones would require a full-length essay that I don't feel like writing. -Pat Robertson-Chistian fascist -Jerry Falwell-Christian fascist -Michael Moore-anti-capitalist propagandist who gets rich by denouncing capitalism -Al Franken-see above -Bill Maher-Marxist, yet calles himself a Libertarian -Sean Hannity-Christian fascist -Hillary Clinton-socialist and dishonest to the core -Ted Kennedy-see above, and add "should be in jail for negligent homicide" -Howard Dean-moderate Democrat pretending to be a socialist -John McCain-fascist -Mark Geragos-knowingly defended a guilty man -Ruth Bader Ginsburg-consistently votes in favor of affirmative action -Antonin Scalia-consistently votes in favor of Christian values -Jesse Jackson-tribalist -Al Sharpton-tribalist -Kweise Mfume-tribalist -Julian Bond-tribalist
  11. He's too conservative, and voted to uphold the Texas sodomy law.
  12. Woah, woah woah...no evidence? There was plenty of evidence...it was just mostly circumstantial. I have absolutely no qualms about seeing this man be sent to his death. The jurors have come out and stated that they have absolutely no doubts regarding his guilt. This is what they used to convict him. In the sentencing phase, emotion came into play...and, in sentencing, emotion is not entirely out of place, because the proper sentence cannot be determined by adding up evidence. That's what the guilt phase is for, and I believe the jurors did a superb job.

You consider kissing to be intimate? Have you honestly never kissed a girl? I'm not trying to make fun of you...just asking.

To me, marriage is a contract of lifelong commitment. Granted, most people end up breaking that contract, but I don't plan to, and I want my children to be born under that contract. I had always planned to save sex until marriage...then I was like, okay, forget that, I'll just wait until I'm with the person I know I'm gonna marry. Then I said, okay, forget that, I'm horny and I want it now. As it turns out, I had to wait until I was with this girl anyway, so it all worked out for the best.

Well, first of all, she isn't really my fiancee yet...probably will be sometime this summer. Technically, yes, she is a Catholic...but she admits that she doesn't really know what she believes, but she still believes in God and believes that abortion is immoral. However, I wouldn't want an abortion. When she told me that she wasn't pregnant, I was actually kind of disappointed. Regardless of the morality of abortion, I knew I would regret it when I looked back a year from now and realized that I could have had a child.
  16. This is simply not true. The only way for this to be true is to implement a "guilty until proven innocent" philosophy. There's a reason why we have reasonable doubt in this country. Guilty people are acquitted all the time, and that's exactly how it should be, because the flipside would be infinitely worse.

I don't have an ethical objection to it. I would just, personally, be uncomfortable with it due to the backlash, mainly from our families. We were thinking we would get married before the actual baby was born, but that doesn't change the pre-marital conception. And, since her family is Catholic, that would be a bad thing.
  18. I don't consider Fred Phelps much of a threat. The Simpsons may suck, but they aren't despicable. I like most of Mel Gibson's movies. I haven't heard of the others.
  19. Okay, everyone just give a list of who you think are the most despicable people (preferably people in the public spotlight) in the United States today. Here's my list, in no particular order: -Pat Robertson -Jerry Falwell -Michael Moore -Al Franken -Bill Maher -Sean Hannity -Hillary Clinton -Ted Kennedy -Howard Dean -John McCain -Mark Geragos -Ruth Bader Ginsburg -Antonin Scalia -Jesse Jackson -Al Sharpton -Kweise Mfume -Julian Bond
