  1. Have you seen the endings? If New Vegas wins (pro-capitalist) evryone prospers, if NCR win, everyone degenerates due to over-taxation and it's obvious what happens if Caesar wins. This game is completely pro Objectivist
  2. whYNOT and brianleepainter, I found this very useful when discussing it with friends, as it got them interested long enough for them to make the choice to think. This allowed me to explain the basic ideas, and I think i've got them interested and questioning their own ideas that selfishness=bad is an axiom thanks. EC, this was what I started to do, presenting the issue to those most likely to understand, and that in turn is getting others to take it seriously. Also I've found that some people who are close friends of mine, though not particularly intellectual, rather ironically were willing to listen to me only as an act of altruism, and were able to understand many ideas behind it. Thank you all, you've been alot of help.
  3. The only way I could do that without them instantly rejecting it because of its name is to explain what the name actually means.
  4. I'm not actually sure that I do truly understand it, it's the one aspect of Rand's philosophy that I have difficulty with. I don't yet try to preach because of this, i only discuss it with my friends. Could you explain the main ideas behind it to me in simple terms, maybe relating it to the issues in the world today?
  5. I think this is the right forum (?) I'm having trouble explaining to other people the ideas behind the virtues of selfishness (and naturally go in with an extremely closed mind) Could you suggest to me a way that I could explain to them, and if neccessary, debate it?
