  1. Does anyone know of a video and/or transcript of this interview?? I am so curious about it and can hardly find any information! Thanks in advance!
  2. I used to like House quite a bit, but once every episode became about Taub's divorce or some bizarre practical joke played on Wilson (i.e. when House somehow constructs a garage door in the wall between their offices) it was apparent that the show was starting to suck.....and it was!
  3. The term "Randroid" has been used historically to ridicule Objectivists. Personally, I embrace the term! Randroids unite!
  4. Why do Objectivists hold Kant as the root of all evil in today's world? I very rarely hear Kant mentioned, even in my college Philosophy classes. Kant, in many ways, expanded on what Plato had already posited. Why not say Plato is the root of all evil?
  5. Is this random episode of TNG the most Objectivist episode of a television show EVER???? "The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged." What say ye of the OOOOOOF??
  6. I'm sure the vast majority of you are familiar with Dr. Peikoff's Q&A Podcast. I've recently submitted a couple of questions. I can only assume a handful of you have submitted questions in the past; how long does it normally take before a question is answered? What is the likelihood my questions will be answered? Thanks!
  7. I'll probably have to end up casting my vote for Hillary, as she strikes me as the least competent candidate.
  8. Thanks! After giving it a bit of thought, I figure I'll probably start with The Fountainhead simply because Howard Roark seems like a real cool guy. Unfortunately, it'll probably be awhile before I can really start on the fiction; I feel obligated to finish OPAR and Ominous Parallels, and I've got Equal is Unfair on the way...hopefully I'll get to her fiction before I'm dead
  9. I'm interested in learning more about proper economics, (not the Keynesian BS they teach me in school) who are some good economists that I should read? I've read a little of Milton Friedman, but beyond that I really haven't done much.
  10. I've always considered The Legend of Zelda (and Tolkien books alike) as paragons of Objectivist values in art. They're both extremely romantic settings in which their stories tell of individualistic heroes, who have values and are dedicated to providing freedom for their respective settings.
  11. If Trump gets elected, the concept of Capitalism will be forever tied to a crony, statist, pseudo-intellectual racist. Of course, Bernie or Hillary may do more harm policy wise, but it may be time that the American people see the terrible consequences of statist policies.
  12. Yeah, I suppose it is a little odd to get into the nitty gritty right away. I guess I was just really fascinated by the political aspect and the inner-workings of the philosophy from the time I was originally introduced. Of course, I've heard the novels are fantastic from a few people, and I'm very excited to read them! I suppose either Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead would be the logical starting point to delve into the fiction?
  13. I consider myself fortunate to have stumbled upon this site, and I look forward to sharing ideas with all of you! A little about myself: I'm currently a college student studying Finance, but my true passion is writing music. I was introduced to Objectivism about 3 years ago by both my cousin and the music of Rush. I haven't read an incredible amount of Ayn Rand's works, but I have read The Virtue of Selfishness as well as many of her essays. As far as other Objectivist works go, I have read most of OPAR and The Ominous Parallels; I'm also extensively familiar with many online videos regarding Objectivism, specifically talks/debates by Yaron Brook, Leonard Peikoff, Harry Binswanger, Onkar Ghate, and Alex Epstein. I love all kinds of art! So excited to hear what the folks of the Objectivism Online Forum have to say!!!!!!
