  1. Thank you for the welcome. I will try. My main feeling is that Objectivism holds lots of thruths, but isn't perfected yet. As soon as I can discribe this imperfections, I will.
  2. Perhaps I should have said it differently, because by 'active' I did not mean the rate of growth, but I meant the way christianity is spread. And no, I don't think anyone can say christianity is bad, for it is a conviction. And I like to point out that in my (opinion) it should stay a conviction, not a reference for good and evil. Though I do not agree on self-sacrifice and altruism, that does not make these things bad, right?
  3. Active negativity distastefull? Christianity is a way of life, a conviction, a philosophy perhaps. But that is not how christianity is declared today. God = good, if I have to believe the common opinion. That's whats bothering me. I am quite negative when it comes to christianity, because christianity is being spread so active. I am lucky my parents only informed me about religion, not learning into believing one. What gives christians the right to place a remark if I would wear an inversed pentagram, when I am faced with christian propaganda around me all day?
  4. Doesn't the pope oppose to stem cell research?
  5. Greeting, Let me introduce myself a bit here. I am Downpraise, I live in Holland and study Technical Engineering. Some weeks ago I bought the movie "Ayn Rand - A Sense Of Life", which made me research objectivism some more, what brought me to this place. I was active on some other boards as well, where I met lots of like-minded people (objectivists among others). One of them urged me to read Atlas Shrugged, which I did some years ago. The book didn't grip me as much as it does now, but I always liked talking to objectivists or people with objectivist views. So I gues I willl like it here. My main interests are music and philosophy. I do not consider myself an objectivist, for I would like to learn more about it (and other philosophies as well for that matter) and I still need to read some other works of Ayn Rand. There are still some things unclear about my view of objectivism, I still have the feeling it contradicts itself somewhere or something. Feel free to ask anything, if you wish. -Downpraise P.s.: I haven't perfected my English yet, so I hope it won't be, or cause, any problems
