  1. Liebeck v. McDonald's Restaurants (a jury awarded $2.86 million to a woman who burned herself with hot coffee). Holy Crap!! Kelly and I post the exact same thing simotaniously!
  2. Join the club. I really like the Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW) and the Kinross Gold Corp. (KGC).
  3. Unless the govt. has some sort of magic wand to make 5 trillion in debt disappear and a industrial base reappear I think its massive inflation is inevitable.
  4. Yes, but they were only able to do so due to the increase of liquidity that the CRA created.
  5. Peter Schiff mentioned in his podcast that comedy central was looking for people who were frequently on CNBC. He mentioned to them that he was on CNBC especially the Kudlow report. They gave him a bunch of BS why he could not be on and then was ignored. The problem with this is that although this is a comedy show and satire it is not being viewed as such. People are taking the Cramer interview very seriously and outside the investment community he is viewed as one of the best there is because he is so well known. It’s much like how people associate Objectivism with Alan Greenspan in the last twenty years. They take a dope like Cramer and show him to the world and say here is the greedy business man short sided and clueless. Checkout this article there are many more like it. Will the Stewart/Cramer Battle Be the Death of CNBC? I guess my main problem is that it is taking on more than a comedy show and people are viewing Stewart as a serious straight taking journalist. They don’t realize that Cramer was a liberal straw man and that the show is deliberately one sided.
  6. I was listening to Peter Schiff’s podcast this week and he mentioned the Daily Show was episode about CNBC and how none of their analyst saw the recession coming. He pointed out that he is frequently on CNBC and has been predicting this very recession for years. He requested an interview but he said the Daily show kept coming up with “unusual “reasons why they could not have him on. It seems that the daily show didn’t want Schiff screwing up their rant and wants it to appear that no one saw this coming.
  7. The Huff and Puff is at it again: An Insiders Look at How Ayn Rand Destroyed the World It’s ironic that when you read articles by liberals the very people who claim to be altruist are filled with hate and anger. I have always said, find me a liberal and I will show you a guy who is consumed by hate.
  8. I spent six years in the navy and I now have the GI bill with the navy college fund.
  9. If only you didn't. I’m a student and have a nontaxable income. However, because of my investments I actually had to pay this year.
  10. “The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.” Oscar Wilde
  11. *** Mod's note: Split from another thread. - sN *** It looks like investors and the banks are trying to change the mark to market rules and I belive Warren Buffet said something to the effect. But without the MTM I wonder how banks are going to value their assets. Can the just write down anything? Kendall, I would appreciate any of your thoughts on the topic
  12. Mr jones gives Obama a reality check.
  13. Massive dose of government bureaucracy gums up the court process.
  14. You mean that the bailout money was not enough to keep GM running? Wow. Who saw this coming? Oh, wait any one who bothered looking. I hate that everyone is playing dumb. Especially the press. You mean that the 13.4 billion given to GM wasn’t enough to pay off its 46.5 billion dollar debt? Keeping in mind the company’s net income is minus 9.5 billion last quarter what makes them think that they can ever pay off a 100 billion dollar loan?
  15. Yeah, your right! However I think his point was that it would be odd that they would mess up the easiest part of the trip. By the way I meant vacuum not vacuumed. Although, I’m all for keeping outer space clean.
  16. My astronomy professor used to joke about Roswell. He said he found it funny that people would think that there is an advanced race that where intelligent enough to travel hundreds of light years through the harsh vacuumed of space only to crash in the last mile. Its funny if you think about.
  17. Capitalism Forever, I'm shocked. I held your opinion in very high esteem until I read that. Although not my ideal candidate I believe that Ron Paul would have been a much better president. He at least understands the economy and realizes that the housing bubble was created by the Fed and Fannie and Freddie caused it. He promotes laissez faire capitalism and doesn’t believe in government interference. For these reasons Ron Paul would be a way better than the current president. If the US just had to have a black president then I would nominate Thomas Sowell for similar reasons. The reason nobody seriously answered the question is because its not a serious question. Almost anybody would be better. Better a president that did nothing than one who promotes a toxic and dangerous socialist agenda. A president does not that put us trillions in debt and destroyes our currency. A president that does not promote the anit life Green iniatives for a energy program. A president that does not want to force the health industry into one program like the pathetic Canadian one. A president who would never dream of nationalising our banks and taking of privite property. Christ!! How could anyone who has read Ayn Rand beleive that Obama is the best man for the job!?!??
  18. To be fair I'm not calling Obama a monkey. It would be unfair to the monkey.
  19. How about: He doesn’t interfere with the market nor make substantial loans he can't pay.
