  1. Lovely new stadium, a marvel of modern civil engineering and architecture, with a sort of Jumbotron so large it should have been set up in Texas! Man, that screen is so freaking big (how freaking big is it?), it's so freakign big everyone at the stadium will watch it rather than the actual action on the field (thank you!)

Don't get me wrong I think the new stadium is impressive and a feat of engineering. However, I don't like the indoor stadiums. It feels like your watching the game in Costco.

    Real teams play outdoors!

  2. Found this article in the Telegraph: The release of the Lockerbie bomber was linked to trade deals between Britain and Libya, Col Muammar Gaddafi’s son, claimed last night.

Apparently the decision by Scottish ministers to free the biggest mass murderer in British legal history was to form a deal with a corrupt terrorist state that has already funded murder on Scottish territory.

  3. Here is the transcript of the CNN interview with the official who released him.

Blitzer: Do you realize that you've made their grief so much more powerful right now because they see the picture of this guy walking on a plane and flying back home to Libya where he is about to be received with a hero's welcome?

MacAskill: I've released a sick man. The medical evidence given to me in a report dated 10th August by the Scottish Prison Service says that he's terminally ill. That is a sentence that I cannot impose in Scotland, no court could. We do not have the death penalty. It's final, terminal and irrevocable.

That sentence that he now faces cannot be revoked by any court or overruled by any jurisdiction. I have decided to allow him to go home to die. I am showing his family some compassion. I accept there was a compassion not shown to families in the United States, or in Scotland.

But we have values, we will not debase them, and we will seek to live up to those values of humanity that we pride ourselves on. He was brought to justice after tremendous -- what, not simply by Scottish police and prosecution authorities, but by the United States.

Equally, as I say, in Scotland, justice is tempered with compassion. And that, as I say, is why he has been allowed to go home to die.

Apparently in Scotland "compassion" trumps justice and the perpetrators are to receive more compassion then their victims. What kind of disgusting and corrupt place this must be where terrorist have more rights then their victims.

  4. This is a little known news article that somehow has been ignored by the mainstream media: Disabled Woman Assaulted at Health Care Town Hall Meeting.

It's a good example of how ACORN and the like don't really "care" about people. One of my favorite sayings is "show me a liberal and I will show you a man who is filled with hate"

The woman then started to mock Kimberly, laughing at her condition and suggesting she was faking it. Kimberly said in tears, "You want everyone taken care of, and you're so concerned about others' well being, but you were more than happy to let me fall on the concrete and then step on me!" The woman and her friends then surrounded Kimberly, stared her down, bumped into her and tried to knock her attached sign off her walker.

The whole thing is just sickening. Here is the

  5. I've wondered if he isn't a closet Objectivist, or at least an Objectivist sympathizer. Apart from his affiliation with Ron Paul there's nothing about him that's incompatible with Objectivism.

He recommends reading "Capitalism the Unknown Ideal" on his website.

  6. I don't have the source, but in a recent print interview, when asked which party he would run with, he stated that he's more philosophically aligned with the republicans, "minus the religious elements which I'm not on board with" or somethng very close to that.

He is a Jew anyway so no need to worry about Christianity.

    This is the full quote:

Well, the Republicans talk about smaller government, less government. They don't govern that way but at least that's their rhetoric. Take out the religious elements — where I'm not necessarily on board — or the social conservative aspect, but the small government wing, the Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater types that are in the Republican party, they're not in the Democratic party.

    As read in FairfeldcountyWeekly.com.

  7. Under the current 2 party system, we're faced with choosing between a slow, meandering stroll toward statism under the Republicans vs. a sprint toward socialism under the Democrats. Not a great choice, but I still prefer the Reps because at least under that party, we have a fighting chance (as well as more time) to change the culture and the underlying philosophy that makes both parties possible. This recent healthcare insanity is a case in point. It now looks as though Obama's push is going to be delayed. So, perhaps we can now convince enough people that socializing America's healthcare system is not the way to go. However, if the Dems had been able to ram this through, we'd now be stuck with a system that would be virtually impossible to reverse in the future.

    I'm voting for gridlock.

Unfortunately I think its too late for that. We've retrograded too far to maintain the status quo. We've lost too much industry and wealth, our liberties have become too perverted. It's impossible to run a business here or generate wealth. We've become so far in debt that paying it off has become unfeasible. I'm not worried about the socialized health care because I believe the government won't be able to pay for it for very long. Most Demarcates are living in a dream world. Reality will come knocking sooner rather than later.

I don't want gridlock because it wouldn't make things better and where we are now is intolerable. Unfortunately I believe things wont start getting better until they get worse. I just wish I wasn't on the ship while its sinking.

  8. His foreign policy statements seem to be a lot better than those of his father. Furthermore, I did not find anything that looks like he is as strongly anti-choice on abortion as his father.

The only thing I could find about his stance on abortion was that he was against federal funding for it. This comes as no surprise seeing how he's against federal funding for almost everything.

  9. Why is this good news? He is just as religious as his father.

Based on what? I couldn't even find what religion he is. If he is a religious nut (which I doubt) he isn't talking about it, or anybody else for that matter. I you go to his campaign website http://www.randpaul2010.com/ you'll find he doesn't even mention religion once. If you do have sources for this claim I would like to see them.

I think its good news because I cannot envision my personal liberties coming under attack from Dr Paul in the Senate. This is the only issue I care about.

  10. Maybe not the average "street libertarian" but pretty much most of the intellectuals consider it "an emblem of statolatry" to quote Rothbard.

Rothbard left the Libertarian Party and became what he called "Paleolibertarianism" he can hardly speak for the entire LP and their leaders. Many Libertarians view themselves as the party of the founding fathers and the constitution. They view the American flag as the symbol of such. The idea of it representing oppression I think would meet with scorn by most of the LP.
