1- Because everything today is on "looks" for example: poor people who suffer are more -allowed- to do crime than rich people. therefore, the poor helpless palistinians using tractors and home made bombs, and poor cave men using airplanes to kill instead of high tech ammunition will be loved by everyone no matter how many civillians get killed. so best thing to do is throw a bunch of glass bottles on them. we will look more helpless this way and it will put us in a better place universally. 2- because Iran might be a pretty place, so why destroy it just because of the crappy people living there? 3- Because nukes are expensive. why waste a nuke on Iran, when there might be other enemies with more high tech whepons we would need to fight? also, I doubt this government will ever allow us to make new nukes. how many do we have, anyway? 4- It might give the Muslims reason to fight hard and work hard on getting real nukes... that thought is scary. 5- because the way the world stands right now you cannot ignore what other countries think.

I have never read Rand's non fiction. but according to her fiction, any kind of teaching or anything to do with the little children was altruism. I don't think she believed it, because I don't think it's true. MAYbe, in her time, schools were not as good, maybe the teachers did not challange the smart kids enough and spent too much time on the dummies.. either way, I think that teaching can be a very satisfying career with nothing altruistic about it. I have met people who love the job of taking care of retards or looneys. they enjoy caring for them and helping them advance. I enjoy having my kids and teaching them. I love seeing them grow up and become independent. It gives ME happiness to see a kid who was so stupid and babyish grow to become smart and is able to take care of herself. why is that portrayed like such an ugly thing in the books?

So Gus put up this video from south park showing us how the democrats have 'changed' as I watched it I thought (well, after I recovered from the nausia of seeing Moor's hairy fat front) I thought, Wow! the perfect party for the Homless, no? do the homeless vote? because they don't have an adress, and they can just give different names to different districts... how convenient! also, how do we know that the voting isn't being tampered with? I wouldn't put it past a Democrat - most are very identical to Keating or Toohey or Jim Taggart and are also as rich and as powerful also, south park does a great job describing (in a gross way) exactly what is wrong with society. sometimes I wonder if they are not secret Objectivists

I was so excited already to see that they removed the ugly gate blocking the site and opened the road by the site. they hung a picture of what it'll look like and I started seeing the beams put up... so if they will take all that down and start again... I'd be upset. I'm looking forward to seeing this place built up already. WTC 7 is up and it's a beauty. every time I pass it, I stop to look and have this great feeling. I want to see ny rebuilt already, they've waited too long. also, I don't get it. WTC 7 is still private but 1 and 2 will be public? the government cant just TAKE silverstein's property just because there were some terror attacks on the site.. they didn't confiscate it after the '93 bombing...

Don't worry, they will use oil as the "alternative energy. they will just call it something else... after all, isn't it their oil that is making them so rich that they could borrow the great minds from all around the free world to come build their city? but when Americans start drilling (despite the orcas that might be "angered" by it) their oil will be needed to run their own city. because there won't be much to whom to sell anymore.

I mean, couldn't he have the phone calls forwarded to his home? so what if there's no internet... and they don'y have to meet in the studio or the slum, they could meet over a cup of coffe in a starbucks or something. Even in a fancy restourunt it would still be cheaper than renting an office...

There's something that really bothered me in fountainhead why di d Howard Roark have to rentt an apartment AND an office? couldnt he work from home or sleep in his office? why pay double rent, double phone bills, electric bills etc.?

This guy is not trash. he is just not a good politician. he does not suck asses. he is not slick and smooth like a Toohey, he is streight forward and ruthless like a Roark. America is not ready for a John Galt. If this happens, I will buy sattelite radio, (which I anyway want to buy when I would be able to afford it - to hear Howard Stern and all those), and I would make a charity organization for any rich person to donate so poor people can get sattelite if they want to listen to free speech. What would YOU do?
