The more open-minded mindset, as suggested, might be beneficial. Consider the variation of foods that are offered by the different countries due to their cultures. Cultural relativism helps people understand the concept that American and Japanese people wouldn't consume the same foods, and that they must have some acceptance of the differences. However, this does not require people to constantly show tolerance for those cultures. Morality is essential here because, as you mentioned in your essay, while some cultures accept slavery and racism due to historical facts, others are intolerant for immoral reasons of their own.
