  1. Damn, oh, my, I'm going to be extremely busy as of late and all the wonderful suggestions on what to read. Wow. More than I've ever gotten. Thanks, Bold and David. And thanks to everyone who posted. I'm giggling a bit! David, you seem to have a great sense of humor! Had me smiling and laughing. No crotchety old farts here I bet! Boo
  2. Thanks, you guys, for the warm welcome. Very sweet. I look forward to participating. I have a pretty busy schedule but will be stopping by every so often to browse and post. I'm a bit overwhelmed by how big this site is and so much to read. I've browsed some other sites but nowhere near as large as this. Some sites have given me an allergic reaction and I absolutely cringed over it. At these sites, there should be a big ass sign at the front door that says "Beware of Pit Bulls. Enter at your own risk." Oy. It's abusive and so forth. Of course, not from all, just certain people that are crotchety old farts all the way around, just complete cranks, but to be expected of course. So where do you all think is a good place to start reading and getting acquainted? Obviously the intro to Objectivism is the first stop. But are there any other areas that would be a great intro to this site and Objectivism? Also are there any meetup type groups out in So Cal? I live close to Huntington Beach. Thanks you guys! Boo
  3. Hi Everyone, I'm new to Objectivism. I'm not that familiar with online message boards but I figured what the hell might as well jump in feet first and explore, have fun, meet new people, and learn about Ayn Rand's philosophy which I've fallen in love with for so many reasons! I've pretty much lived my life according to Ayn Rand's philosophy so I'm sorta familiar with it already but I don't know all the ins and outs of it but I can't wait to jump in and start learning more about it. I just recently read Atlas Shrugged and that was my first introduction to Objectivism and ever hearing of Ayn Rand. I cried quite a few times while reading it. It's an absolutely phenomenal book, very moving for me. I'm most grateful to have found Ayn Rand. I live in Southern California. I'm a single mom and enjoying the freedom finally! I've been having a total blast, totally needed. I'm self employed. I work in the legal field. I have many many interests. I've browsed the site a bit and I've found many areas I know I will most definitely enjoy. It's a bit late now for me but I just wanted to say hi to everyone from out here in Cali. I'm the total newbie at a lot so kinda bear with me, you know, new to Objectivism and new to message boards so I'll try to behave and be a good girl. I really like these little smiley guys. They're so damn cute! Okay, it's super late and time for me to knock out. But I wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone here. I look forward to our discussions and I'll definitely be around for awhile. BooBear
