  1. I'm wondering if that was a "pragmatic" statement to help ease the psychological stress from the market losses today. I don't believe him.
  2. They'd be allowed. A dog is the property of its owner.
  3. What's wrong with that? I often speak with the electrostrong/electroweak forces while waiting for the coffee to percolate.
  4. I completely agree with Jake Ellison's comments.
  5. Yep, I'm a fan of that whole Social Text thing that happened a few years back. Great fun.

  12. I'd venture to guess that Rearden Metal laughs in the face of 3000 degrees C. It'll take more heat than that to melt that stuff . Edit: It is mentioned in AS that Rearden Metal won't melt until it reaches temperatures over 4000 degrees. That will put it right in the same ballpark as tungsten, the metal with the highest melting temperature. Another edit: http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/...05/1/index.html
  13. Electric Arc Furnace in a steel mill: The sound that it emits when it the charge begins to flow is beautiful.
  14. Jesus, I thought this was a joke when I heard about it. What a douche.
  15. Did anyone record this? He mentioned on Facebook that he'd be on but of course my cable company doesn't carry Fox Business.
  16. If by "nowdays" you mean from the 18th century onward, I agree. (I'm basing the 18th century number on the Wahhabi movement so I might be overshooting by a little.)
