  1. I agree with this and I'll add that I live in Britain which it's safe to say is worse off politically and economically than the United States; yet people still grow rich and happy here. The situation in reality is not as bad as the situation in Atlas Shrugged. America has beaten British imperialism, fascism and communism; all of which seemed to be unstoppable at the time. Perhaps you should consider your problems from a psychological perspective: are you using Obama to rationalise your personal insecurities about starting a business?

Yes, the RTS genre seems to have reached it's limit so the games tend to look the same. My opinion of Warcraft 3 is that it wasn't original but it did feel 'tight' and 'polished' compared to similar games based on Warhammer, the Forgotten Realms etc. Perhaps it's because those systems evolved organically and seem quite messy in comparison whereas I think Blizzard did a good job of cherry picking the best aspects of the fantasy genre and integrating it into a decent if unoriginal game. They all look awesome and the 'confusion' skill looks really fun!
  4. I'm starting to enjoy the more benevolent songs out there these days but I still have sense of life issues arising from childhood experiences of irrationality and social anxiety. So with that in mind my anthem is Nirvana's 'Aneurysm', but stay tuned for an update for when I have truly integrated the benevolent universe premise!
  5. I also enjoy this show and I second Tenure's recommendation. If you are unable to get the show in the US you can still buy the book for the facts alone on Amazon. It's amazing how many things we take for granted which are in fact incorrect. Edit- I'd like to see topics like selfishness and capitalism come up on the show, I want to see Stephen say something like: SF: For our next question, 'What is capitalism?' Alan: The exploitation of poor people by a small gang of fat cat industrialists who rape the earth and put profit before human rights! *BUZZER!* SF: Oh! I'm afraid that's the wrong answer! Capitalism is actually a social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, in which all property is privately owned and where men voluntarily trade value for value for their mutual benefit and the initiation of force is illegal. This is in contrast to socialism which is a pile of cat dung.

I think the reason is mistaking trade with force, believing that there can be no separation of economy and state and a lack of knowledge about ethical egoism and therefore capitalism. To paraphrase Rand, they don't see the difference between Attila and the businessman.
