  1. IMO, Beck is a very dangerous character as he ties almost everything back to religion and god. The tea party movement, free markets, individual rights, etc are all promoted on his show on such flawed premises that he has to be doing more harm than good. This guy is no advocate for reason, I mean come on he has a painting of Washington and other founding fathers with the words faith, hope and charity under them. Day after day he talks about how religious the founding fathers were, how this is a christian nation and how evil liberals are because they want to take god out of school and separate church from state. Beck is nothing more than a religious conservative and not one of those Republicans that just pays lip service to religion he believes it hook, line and sinker. He may expose people to Ayn Rand's work but he is such a mental midget do we really want him associated with trying to spread secular reason?

  2. I would much prefer raw milk if it wasn't illegal. Pasteurization is unnecessary unless the cow is living in his shit. Pasteurization also kills off bacteria that make milk more tolerable. The end result of pasteurization is today's situation where all cows live in their shit, their shit gets mixed into the milk, and their milk tastes like shit. Everyone also thinks they're lactose intolerant, when really they are just intolerant of the crap they get from the grocery store.

Bottom line: things are not automatically good for you (the Objectivist) just because they have been industrialized or commercialized, and things are not automatically bad for you because they are advocated by someone whose politics are ghastly.

Don't forget all the shit in the meat you are eating too. Combine that with all the shit you are drinking in the milk and I dare say, you are full of shit.

  3. I was looking over the blog for the time line for how this thing is going to get enacted. One question I thought the penalty for not having insurance was supposed to be $695 or something like that. But on the timeline in 2014: "Individual mandate penalties begin (phased in from $95 in 2014 to 2.5% of taxable income in 2016)". So does this mean that if you don't have insurance by 2016 2.5% of your income will be the penalty? That seems like a hell of a lot of penalty.

  4. Being a vegan myself for over 10 years she is one of those vegans that I have run across many times in my life. The story goes like this: A teen struggling with their weight and most likely an eating disorder turns to veganism to help lose weight. Their version of a vegan diet consists of eating cereal, potato chips, and some other vegan junk food. Health issues galore ensue. They then blame all their health problems on eating a "vegan" diet.

  5. I guess 'ol Tommy boy has never seen the movie "Unit 731". The movie dramatizes and documents the horrendous things the Japanese were to doing to Chinese prisoners in their pursuit of biological and other weapons of mass destruction. They were actually pretty close to developing clay bombs that would drop super black plague infected fleas on cities. When they had to abandon the site because the Americans were kicking the Japanese in the teeth they left the fleas and the area was devastated by the black plague killing untold amounts of Chinese. But I guess we shouldn't think about these things and just say we were after them cause they have slanty eyes.

  6. Where would be a good place to see all the episodes of TTGL? Youtube has a few parts of episodes, but I'm not sure where exactly to find more.

They showed the whole season (english dub) on adult swim or the cartoon network a little while ago. Since it is licensed in America if it is not on DVD/Blu-ray already it will probably get released soon seeing as it is one of the most popular and highest rated animes since Death Note.

  7. IMHO, I would say the DEA and the War on Drugs (thanks Nixon), to be one the most damaging frauds perpetuated on the American people. The really messed up thing is that America has egged on this War on Drugs around the world and chaos has followed. Locking up non-violent drug users, gangs that terrorize cities, corruption of law enforcement, funding terrorism, and the list goes on and on and on.

Not really surprising since we know his views on individual rights, but I still find it disconcerting how he smuggly shrugs off the question with a chuckle (is he still punch drunk?). I mean millions of lives have been and are still being ruined because of marijuana prohibition, a drug which apparently he used numerous times before. Also ironic because of the escalating violence on the Mexican border between the drug cartels and prohibitionist. With prohibition so relevant to current problems in this country many people voted for the Marijuana question to be asked and he basically spat in their face, I guess it's not that shocking, you get what you vote for.

  9. Ahhh yeah, last year in Arizona, the state John McCain represents, there were 340 reported kidnappings. The second most in the world. I wouldn't be holding my breath for any type of help for the guy kidnapped in Pakistan when they can't do anything about the kidnappings in the good 'ol USA. Maybe we should be putting more effort into ending the War on Drugs

  10. I don't think there is any chance of stopping a stimulus bill. The Republicans are not questioning whether there should be a stimulus bill or not. If you watch any of the major news outlets you see Republicans have already ceded that there needs to be a stimulus bill, their problem is that it just contains the Democrat's pet projects without including Republican pet projects. There is no fundamental opposition to the idea of a stimulus by government by anyone in Washington, the talking heads, or most of the public. Now with Obama co-opting the Bush administrations fear mongering over the coming catastrophe if government does not act, the sheeple will go along with it.
