  1. Themadkat's lengthy reply was good, minus the puns.
  2. When I click on the "Members" tab on the forum screen it brings me to my InBox. A bug to be fixed?
  3. Introduction threads usually don't make me laugh. This one was an exception. Hello.

    Nihilism

I am actually working on a blog post that has to do with this. I may post it here, when I'm done.
  5. That video was extraordinarily interesting. Thank you very much.
  6. Dream_weaver hit the nail on the head. Your take on Atlas Shrugged tells us more about you than it does Atlas Shrugged. I read Atlas Shrugged and found it very inspiring. I have no idea whence your groundbreaking interpretation came. There is nothing in that book that would lead you to come to the conclusion that you have. In fact, I think you be trollin' and/or out of your mind.
  7. I lol'd. I lol'd at the subsequent responses as well.
  8. A man should be concerned about finding a woman worthy of having sex with, not having sex in itself. This is the problem I find when most people tell someone they "should've had sex by now." The point is that sex means that there's someone worth having sex with, if said person isn't, then there is no reason for someone to have had sex. I was offering as my advice that the topic poster be more concerned with finding a woman worth having sex with than removing the title "virgin," as said title is meaningless in regards to his greater values.
  9. I'm 22 tomorrow, and I'm still a virgin. I'm attractive and charismatic. Sometimes, I get concerned about being a virgin as well, but it's not something that you should be concerned about. Sex isn't a duty; it's something that you partake in when you deem it appropriate to your values. Sex is meaningless and shouldn't be pursued if it doesn't involve someone that you value greatly. You should focus on things that actually matter to you, like finding a good woman or doing well in school, not social stigmas and the approval of jackasses.
  10. They're coming for our cows and colon spelunking.
  11. I think you're getting a distorted image of men. Not all men are as you describe them, I'm certainly not. In fact, your description of your personal experience with fantasies is more consistent with my own (I'm a man). There are a lot of other things that I would disagree with in your assessment of men, but I think it's sufficient to say that you should check your premises on the matter.
  12. I'm too poor I'm going to need some of that government subsidy.
  13. I think "leech" is a pretty good one, as JayR noted. There are more than one type of them, so you could use "brute" in some circumstances, while in others use "leech." I don't find it that difficult finding an appropriate word for them.
  14. Unsurprised. I've read sociology books before...
  15. Good post. I've lived with people like Obama before, and you're right on the money.
  16. That Darth Vader picture makes me laugh every time I see it.
  17. And here I thought this was a thread about me...
  18. If by "sharp," you mean clear, concise, and to the point, then your surprise surprises me. I was simply asking a question, with no disparaging connotations intended.
  19. Lol. Good ad. I'd tell all of the women in your class that they're ugly and should aspire to look like a cigar.
  20. I've heard other people who gain or reaffirm their faith with situations like this. I would ask him what in Christianity made him stop it and why this is a good thing. Most people look back upon something like that and think: "Holy crap, I almost..." They have gained a greater understanding of the value of life since that event. Most likely, they will look at the thing that pushed them towards the right direction and think it to be the embodiment of life, but it isn't necessarily so. In an emergency situation, you don't need a completely integrated rational philosophy, anything that will keep you from committing the horrific error is enough. Religion is fundamentally crap, but it has some good out of context commandments (I'm sure one of these is what stopped him). As for your debate, you should boil it down to the what religion essentially is, i.e. faith, and contrast that with its antipode, i.e. reason. Reason is your only means of survival. Faith is just accepting crap for no damn reason.
