I'd say the ultimate root cause is altruism. An antisemite is a person with a flimsy or non-existent sense of individuality who tries to compensate by adopting a collective identity defined by antagonism against another collective. It's not at all uncommon for rabid antisemites to amicably interact with Jews or even befriend them -before going back to snarling epithets on the internet; they don't feel threatened by Jews on a personal level. They have no 'person' that can be threatened. The antipathy always follows a narrative of 'tribe versus tribe' which provides the camaraderie, uncritical acceptance and belonging that altruists need to fill the yawning void where the ego should be. The Supreme Court must be five-ninths elite liberal, which is a slow process. The developer has added in an 'elite liberal amendment' endgame which speeds it up by replacing all of them with elite liberals. There is also an according arch-conservative amendment.

Sorry but I don't fetishize semantics and labels. Specifics please? I didn't play psychic with your intentions and I would appreciate if you reciprocate that respect. Can you source that non-Jewish citizens are barred from voting in Israel?

An unfortunate necessity to being under constant siege by savages. Can you reliably source this (i.e. no Rense or prisonplanet)? I can understand how Jews may get certain benefits beyond the entitlements of citizenship (the same way minority scholarships do) but nobody is barred from residence, employment and protection by the law.

Someone who does not think, has no sense of self, believes seeking knowledge is a futile endeavor and that getting a desirable result is more important than following any standard or consistency. Close enough?

As a student of Objectivism, I would think that Obama may feel somewhat indebted -as in the context of pull- to the overwhelming majority of Jewish voters who contributed to his election -and would be valuable to his re-election. I guess not even pull can save you when you're seen as the Rival Tribe.

It's not that they don't think government involvement is necessary for a high standard of living; they want to placate their second-hander anxieties to be part of a whole (either as serfs or vassals, makes no difference to them as long as they are tied to others) while at the same time keep their ipods, xboxes, cellphones et al. They believe those inventions would have just spontaneously come into being independent of individual freedom (i.e. Rearden Metal is actually Miracle Metal).

Couple of points of advice for Andrew if he sincerely wants to be taken seriously here. * Stop with the assertions of your fidelity to Objectivism, rationality, reason, et al and questioning that of the members here. Not only is it condescending but it makes it seem like you are more concerned with labels (i.e. what people think of you and what you think of them) rather than the substance of your arguments -the trademark of the Second-Hander. Your vague claim at personally knowing 'big name' Objectivists is another Second-Hander giveaway; no serious Objectivist would incorporate that into an argument even if it was true. * Be more responsible with your use of emotionally loaded words like "inhuman" and "horrific". The other members use them in the context of unambiguously inhuman and horrific deeds like suicide bombing and beheadings. In contrast, you connect those words to vague, general concepts like 'pre-emptive war' and 'nation-building' -things that can have a variety of interpretations depending on the reader- with no specifications on what you find to justify such histrionic adjectives. It's like you're trying to guilt-trip others into agreement with you.

And once misanthropy and mysticism completely infect the science departments of our universities, that may be exactly what happens.

I hated Salvation. The 'twist' of Wright being a cyborg was telegraphed far in advance (even if you hadn't seen the trailers) and the Skynet robots utterly lacked the aura of menace projected by the previous terminators (including Lokan's TX). Flying camcorders and sentient motorcycles are laughable compared to the stone-faced golems we remember. That 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' cameo of Arnie's pre-surgery head CG'd onto a body double was a condescending reminder of what was expected from a Terminator film but never delivered.

I've figured it's a 'sanction of the victim' scheme where the Left manipulate the opposition by exploiting their values and guilt for not strictly applying them. The amoral Islamists have no such vulnerability and the Left share camaraderie with that scum anyway.

But that kind of rancor is the sort of pedestrian tawdriness you can find in any clique of teenagers. It's very different from populist antipathy which is indiscriminate and sanctioned by the intellectual elite.

The type ACORN buses onto the lawns of AIG execs. As in Jordan. But I think a point could be made that sports and entertainment are accessible to the mainstream (ie. we can't all be like Mike but we can all play basketball) while practical economics isn't. It's the mystery and obtuseness around the profession that can fuel myths of malfeasance.

It's a faulty premise that corporations are a reliable Republican constituency, but I guess that's lost on the legions of drooling picket-wavers. But we can't all be like Mike.

It's consistency that's the dealmaker for me. A statist would have no concern for womens rights other than to agitate the collective persecution complex of his constituents.
