  1. Interesting, I enjoyed reading it. Nice research, I had read some speculative work on the infulence THC has on Cancerous cells, but this puts it forth clean and understandable way. (The previous work I mentioned being a royal mess) It should be noted, however, that this should not be used as an argument for "Weed is good for you, dawg". To injest this Cannabinoids using other methods, sure, go for it. But to get them into your organism via smoking, I do not suggest doing. It would be slightly ironic if a person smoked pot to fight Lung Carcinoma, and later, when the tumor was gone, he found out he had severely damaged his alveloi and cillia in the way
  2. You should really try out this forum´s chat room. It quite pleasant, leaving aside the occasional trolls (Who, BTW, are still funny in a way) xD
  3. Very Nice artwork Vita! Perhaps if you lowered the gradient´s opacity, it would look slightly clearer. I personally liked the idea, and the colors are rather stunning.
  4. LOL I know, it´s ridiculous. One expresses his idiotic ideas bluntly and fails at convincing anyone. The other one shares a similar idea, only he/she uses "complex and sophisticated" vocabulary which manages to confuse a big percentage of the readers into thinking "This might actually make some sense..." when, had they actually understood what it said clearly, that would have laughed.
  5. The text is flawed. As Knast pointed out, Atheism is most certainly NOT the belief of "Nothing created Nothing". To be an atheist implies not believing in the existence of deities. Simple as that. Other conceptions of creation you choose later on is outside it´s boundaries. The text itself tends to attract people for its cleverly structured sentences and word play. It does not, however, hold any logical ground when related with it´s title. To bring up two more examples of erroneous thought regarding atheism:
  6. I thoughtfully enjoyed the movie. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter = Brilliant Performance.
  7. 90% of my gaming is done using the Steam platform, developed by Valve. Team Fortress 2 Zombie Master Zombie Panic: Source Half-Life 2 Deathmatch Killing Floor Garrys Mod Splinter Cell Double Agent: Multiplayer Day Of Defeat: Source Bioshock 2 Multiplayer If you want to add me on Steam: juanicastro94 Steam Nick: Skieski (=CG=)
  8. I recently created a website for my gaming community, Conjoint Gaming, under the domain www.conjointgaming.com. Its rather new and with a lot to be improved yet, but I am rather proud of it. I designed and constructed it using Dreamweaver and Photoshop. I also designed the forums, although I do not take much credit for it. Mainly grabbed a theme and sparked up quite a lot of modifications. I am currently learning Flash via Online Tutorials and I wish to someday change the entire website to it. Its not very easy thought LOL I am always open to suggestions to make the website better, and constructive criticism
  9. I particularly liked this drawing. Exceptional work Ifat, keep it up!
  10. I did not know it by the name "Rich Text Editor", that´s why I missed the button function. Thanks for clarifying softwareNerd, it is appreciated. I apologize for posting in the wrong forum.
  11. I do not believe that the WYSIWYG mode is applied via browsers, but via forums/websites. Of course, I could be mistaken.
  12. First off, I apologize if the WYSIWYG mode is already installed and I have not spotted a button to access it. If that, however, is not the case I would like to request its implementation. For those users not aware of what WYSIWYG stands for: What You See Is What You Get. What is this mode? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG I have recently implemented it in my forum and it certainly does make posting easier for some users. I have it set as a default option. However, if any user wishes to go back to the codes mode, he can easily do so by clicking a button. Just thought that it could improve and simplify posting if added here. Thanks in advance. PS: Yes, that is a lot of "Implemented".
  13. With all due respect, the ramifications of the subject are too many to make such a statement. I do agree in the crazy part though.
  14. Many things can be done with pets. It mainly depends in the individual taste of the owner. Somebody might want a very tiny dog, a dog that never gets big. A "Puppy Forever". Or this other dog, who`s name I cannot recall, that has at a certain age a grave problem with the bones that make up the spinal columm. As it gets old, the pain becomes quite big and some owner simply choose to sacrifice the dog. Then we have this other case in which the dog, as it gets older, starts to loose the capacity to accurately recognize scents. There are cases in which the dog has attacked the owner after not being able to distinguish, through smell, who he is. Now, regarding the human body modifications: 1_The work with telomeres and the enzyme telemerase is essential to reduce or even detain aging. If the cell´s genetic code was to be modified so that the telomeres section is reconstucted after every cell division, the individual cells would not die and they would be able to reproduce forever. Example: Cancer Cells. Is anyone associated with the cancer HeLa? A patient called Helen (Last name I do not remember) developed a ferocious cancer which quickly ended her life. Nowadays, HeLa cancer is grown in many laboratories and used as tissue culture for different experiments. I believe that the chromosome count for the cancer is between 80 and 85. It never dies, at all hands, an inmortal cancer. Now, how could we possibly apply this to human cells? 2_As you are all probably aware of, human beings have evolved through time. The creatures fit to survive survive and their genes are passed on. Natural Selection. We evolve that way in order to adapt our system to changes in our enviroment. Now, changes cannot and will not ocurr in a sole individual in his lifespan. This changes take many years. What I´m about to propose is crazy and a simply floating idea I had some days ago. Viruses are known to be able to modify the genetic structure of the cells. So, how about an organ that, receving stimulus from the brain and acting in accordance, creates viruses, harmless viruses, which target specific types of cells and carry a determined modification to be carried out within the cells nuclear membrane. There are many problems with this. First, how to create the organ. Second, how to make the organ create the viruses and then how to make it modify and change the specific set of genetic changes to be carried by the virus and implanted in the cell. And many other but I`m getting a bit long here. 3_ Modify the human skeleton. We are the only mammal that suffers from Lumbago. 4_ More effective filtrating systems for the brain. Filtration of substances such as alcohol. Now, and excuse the little off topic addition here: Cancer seems to still require a lot of investigation to be properly exploited in its full potential. Of course, we still need a good cure for it. A cure that does not destroy the immune system in its way. Then again, I bring up the viruses. There are viruses that attack certain cells. We know this. What part of their genetic code tells them which cells to attack? Could there be a way to "induce" viruses to target specifically cancer cells? Cells with more or less than 46 chromosomes? Sorry If the topic has visible mistakes, I am a little short in time right now.
