I'm a 39 year-old gay male who just recently dropped the label "libertarian-conservative" and instead adopted the label "Objectivist." Once I realized that essentially what I believed was what Ayn Rand outlined in her philosophy--that was all that I needed! I own two blogs: The Conservative Rainbow (from my pre-Objectivist days and a more "political" blog) and The Objectivist Chronicle (a blog dedicated to Objectivism).
I believe, if I'm not mistaken, an example of a floating abstraction often given by Ayn Rand was the concept of "society." Society is simply a collection of individuals--"society" is not a real, concrete entity in and of itself.
