Reading the Buddhism thread reminds me of a question asked to Derrida about what love is. This thread seems to be saying that in Buddhism no pure Self exists apart from thoughts, sensations and what not. Derrida seems to apply this view to human relationships. You can see him explain here -

Rand's love was highly critical and judgmental, I wonder how an Objectivist would interpret Derrida's statements about love?
