Miles White
I stumbled upon this new little united states third party that's coming up called the Liberal Capitalist Party. It seems to have a pretty interesting platform based upon what it has said about certain issues. They seem to be fairly level headed. http://www.liberalcapitalist.com/faqs/c_20/ Edited December 30, 2007 by Miles White
Thales
Just going by what I've read, they appear to be clearly superior to republicans, democrats and libertarians. They believe in a free market, in individual rights and in self-defense. They reject collectivism, and strongly believe in separation of church and state. They believe government is necessary, and explicitly reject anarchism. I also like the fact that they are lovers of the founding ideals of America. I detect some small weaknesses in their ideas (the idea that tolerance is a virtue), but considering the times, I’m impressed with what they have to offer. They don't have a chance in the short run, but I like the fact that they are out there.
Steve D'Ippolito
They seem at worst to only be half bad. Huge improvement. But will they eventually go nutso because of their contradictions, like the Libertarians?
DarkWaters
Considering the wide selection of terrible political parties that exist today in the United States, this party looks decent enough where I wish them well in their endeavors. I would be interested in learning more about what specific courses of action they are pushing for.
DavidOdden
OTOH, their leader characterises the difference with the LP thusly: The Libertarian Party is generally over-informed by philosophy, and as such finds it very difficult to compromise not just with other political parties, but with each other within their party as well. It impedes their ability to grow and succeed as a party. A Liberal Capitalist Party on the other hand is more interested in political progress than ideological purity. As a result our tent has the potential to be far, far larger than the Libertarian Party's tent ever could be
