Tom K.
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm brand new here. I just finished reading Atlas Shrugged last night, and did that book ever blow me away. I will never look at the world quite the same way again. I even have found my way of thinking changed in many ways, and I'm trying to encourage it in this way. A bit about me: I'm 34, married, with a young son. I currently work for a defense contractor, but I'm looking to go back to school to help me take on new challenges. I'm a veteran of the US Navy (Corpsman for anyone familiar with what we are), and a writer. I'm looking forward to getting to learn more about Objectivism and how I can apply it to my daily life! Roger
Tom, Tag. You're now the new guy. I held the title for a couple of days. I recall the night I finished Atlas Shrugged, it was 3 days before I was married - Talk about a life changing week! (15 years and both women are still with me, Ayn Rand and Wife) Roger

Rearden_Steel
I'm a veteran of the US Navy (Corpsman for anyone familiar with what we are), and a writer. Hi Dan! My brother is a Corpsman and I myself served in the Navy for 6 years.
Tom K.
Thanks for the welcome! Welcome to the forum. What do you write about? Mostly I do short stories, about whatever topic I happen to think about. I've also written two feature length screenplays. I'm currently outlining a novel about a retired soldier who leads an uprising against an extremely oppressive future US government. Tom, Tag. You're now the new guy. I held the title for a couple of days. I recall the night I finished Atlas Shrugged, it was 3 days before I was married - Talk about a life changing week! (15 years and both women are still with me, Ayn Rand and Wife) I hear you there. My wife and I just celebrated 8 years together. I only wish I had read Atlas Shrugged when I first encountered it. I can only imagine where my life would have led. I'd still have the wife and kid though My brother is a Corpsman and I myself served in the Navy for 6 years. Your brother is a great man! What did you do in the Navy?

Rearden_Steel
Your brother is a great man! What did you do in the Navy? Why the hell did I call you Dan? I was a IS (Intelligence Specialist). I was a IS1 a year ago but I got out to go to school. Edited April 17, 2008 by Rearden_Steel
Tom K.
Why the hell did I call you Dan? I was wondering myself, but I was going to let you slide on that one I was a IS (Intelligence Specialist). I was a IS1 a year ago but I got out to go to school. Cool. IS always sounded interesting, but I figured my mind made the job much cooler than it actually was.
