richardcypher Posted October 6, 2008 Report Share Posted October 6, 2008 haha, that was a great cartoon. i'm in middle school and am unfortunately surrounded with idiots who are raised being taught that very thing the screaming is saying that self-sacrifice is good and working for your own good is damned. personally, i say it is because of religion that this is being screamed at all. i also go to the mormon church because i'm too big a coward to tell my parents i don't believe in god... at all. but these very same socialistic idea's are being preached there. it's god awful Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I actually had a decent economics teacher who supported capitalism, but his reasoning was that socialism was a nice idea but simply impractical. Tenure Posted October 8, 2008 Report Share Posted October 8, 2008 Rosemary - that's the sort of attitude I find her in the UK. People accept that, ecnomically, capitalism does some nice things. Socialism only failed because of the inherent inability of men to live up the moral virtues of the socialism-past. This inability to understand the goodness of Capitalism in its moral basis is what held back a Renaissance of Capitalism here, and in America, in the 80s.
