Rearden_Steel
I’m interested in what others think of this article from the Hawaii Reporter Welcome to The Socialist Union of Ameri-EU". In the article the author claims that with the bailout that congress has gone too far and even suggests that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed be jailed!! I don’t completely agree with everything he says, however it is refreshing to hear some outrage over the last couple of weeks and see someone stand up for liberty in the press. One author, Ayn Rand, saw into the future and wrote of it 51 years ago (1957) in the novel, "Atlas Shrugged". Capitalism is dead and free markets are dead; nationalized by the United States Government in one sweeping draconian, unconstitutional action by an out-of-control, head-in-the-sand, "Absolute Democrat Monarchy" of a U. S. Congress. An action that was precipitated by failed socialist policies, implemented by liberal Democrats, that have controlled the U. S. Congress and the White House for the majority of the years since FDR. And why did they do this? For the sole purpose of the entrenchment of their own power by buying votes with someone else's money, at the point of a gun. The current leadership in the U. S. House (Pelosi) and Senate (Reid) are an absolute abomination and embarrassment to their offices. From our perspective, they are traitors to the cause of freedom and at the very least, should be jailed. Now....... there are currently two kinds of Americans. Those proud Americans (warriors) that say and will act upon their solemn oath of "Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death" and those hapless Americans that whine that they are victims of all the ills of society and must have their hands held, their brows stroked, their wallets filled and their "pig troughs" re-supplied every day, at the udder of "Mother" government. ers
Nice. Unfortunately for us, I think the majority of Americans happen to be the hapless, whining, government udder sucking "victims" of society. Which is supposed to be why our government was set up so that 51% of the populace couldn't impose socialism on the rest of us, but the future is looking quite dreary. Capitalism Forever
LOL, I'm not sure the gentleman was entirely sober when he wrote this, but still ... good writing!

That was written in a newspaper?? That was some of the worst writing I've ever read in publication. I agree with Capitalism Forever, it sounds more like a drunken rant than a cohesive argument. Either way, yes, he makes some good points. A bit alarmist perhaps, but valid. I take issue with a couple things, though. 1. I don't see anyone dying because their liberties are being taken from them. Pretty sure it's not that bad yet. 2. If "Whiners" always lose to "Warriors", then why, according to the author, are the Whiners winning? (an interesting piece of alliteration I just noticed ) 3. I'm pretty sure you'd need more than an opinion of someone being an abomination and an embarrassment to the office to throw them in prison. 4. To imply that we live in a totalitarian socialist dictatorship is patently false. It's nice to hear that someone's pissed off about the direction this country is going economically, but really, he should calm down. It's one thing to give examples of how current policies are related to socialism or how those same policies failed in the past to produce the economic stimulation that they promised; it's another to make sweeping, unreferenced generalizations about "the state of things" because you don't possess the oratory to elucidate your point. He's getting paid for this; I want to see some professionalism.
