A former Assistant Attorney General of Pennsylvania, with impeccable Democrat credentials, filed a lawsuit in late August charging that Obama is ineligible because he was born in Kenya to a Kenyan national and an underage American mother, making him officially (under U.S. law) a citizen of Kenya. He has audio tapes of Obama's paternal grandmother bragging about being in the hospital in Kenya when he was born. He surmises that Obama's failure to release university records stems from his status on those records as a foreign student, qualified for assistance and eased admittance (he got into Harvard law with reportedly C average undergrad grades). Obama and the DNC have failed to respond in time to a series of "admissions" in the lawsuits, meaning that legally, they have "admitted" that he is indeed a citizen of Kenya and ineligible for the U.S. Presidency. The case is being stonewalled by Obama and DNC, and the Superior court has slow rolled a ruling on a motion to dismiss. According to the Constitution, 20th Amendment, "If a president shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified." The 20th Amendment also starts the terms of Senators and Representatives on 3 January, and of President on 20 January. So here's the scenario: Obama wins the election, coat-tailing the Democrats into a super-majority. The lawsuit hits the mainstream, and it becomes painfully obvious that Obama is ineligible. Congress stonewalls on determining the status until the new term starts. On January 3, Congress declares Obama ineligible and removes him from President elect status. Obama's ties to radicals, marxists, terrorists etc., are played up by the media; more surprises that make him unpalatable to even his black supporters are unearthed. Biden stays on as President elect, pending a change. Democrats, with a super-majority, declare that due to the unforeseen fraud of the Obama candidacy, they have no choice but to qualify the runner-up in the Democratic primaries as President elect. On January 20, Hillary Rodham Clinton is sworn in as President, Joe Biden as Vice-President. Hillary makes major concessions to black leaders in order to assuage the mob, and cements herself as a stabilizing force in America. Americans have established themselves as post-racial victims of an unscrupulous foreigner, narrowly averting the disaster of a foreign plant in the highest office. All's well that ends well. But it is fun to play unlikely scenarios concerning elections. What is the president elect dies before assuming office? What if the winner of the presidential election dies before the Electoral College formally elects him? What is the Electoral College votes differently than the poll results say it should? On a different vein, what if the President, VP and Speaker of the House all die the same day? How many people need die before the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development ascends to the Presidency? (imagine WWIII or an alien invasion, or a comet strike for all the Niven fans out there). Seriously, though, if the choice were Hillary vs McCain, would we be better or worse off? But when I said "alien invasion" I was making a reference to the "Alien Space Bat" scenario type missliked by Alternate history fandom far and wide.
