aeinste1n
My introduction, I grew up in a relatively small midwestern town, and the altruist/christian morality was shoved down my throat a lot as a kid. I always had an individualist philosophy. (and those jerks just called me selfish for it) My freshman year at high school I joined my school's debate team. I chose Lincoln-Douglas (philosophy) debate because it interested me. As I was researching for a case my debate teacher handed me the Ayn Rand Lexicon to find some good sources. (I think she actually gave it to me to read as a punishment.) Little did she know I would soon fall in love with Objectivism. It has been almost a year now and I have read several of Rand's works and will be buying more for Christmas. I know what you're thinking, don't say it. Christmas to me is a celebration of the beauty of our capitalistic retail industry. Anyway, I am very much an upbeat Objectivist and I have been seeking to apply Objectivist ideals to politics and debate, which also interest me. I came across this forum and absolutely loved it. I wil definitely become an active member.

aeinste1n
Oh, and as an icebreaker, favorite animal sound? Hmmm, that's a tough one. If democrats count as animals I think I would have to go with the Dean Scream. If not, I would say a hyena laugh.
