Jackethan
The alleged detriment to physical health caused by masturbation is not at all compared to the psychological effect of -not- getting sexual relief for long periods of time. The entire page fails to mention a single -benefit- to masturbation. As such, the entire page is biased, and (it can be inferred) so is the book. As such I thought the question of whether or not the argument is 'reasonable' is self evident. It is not.
Tenzing_Shaw
Since the church can't legally make eunuchs anymore, I suppose this is the next best thing. Perhaps they have also realized that guilt can be a more effective weapon than force. These days, their victims are even sincerely thanking them (see the "testimonials"). The Wrath
Huh. I do it about 4-5 times a week, so I guess I could be borderline. Although I haven't noticed any changes, I better look into this : What's the evidence? P.S. I once heard a very good doctor(MD) discuss this, and he did mention there's evidence suggesting this is true, but he said it's nowhere near conclusive. In fact he said the benefits of masturbation (in moderation) outweigh the drawbacks. This was a few years back. Another thing I heard(this is mostly just hearsay though) is that most sex-addicts in fact don't ejaculate quickly, they tend to masturbate for a long time rather than often. 4-5 times a week is normal. I'm talking people who do it like 5-6 times per day.

Sir Andrew
I don't know man, I first masturbated with I was 12, and now I have to carry around a portable DVD player with me so that I can watch porn when I'm walking down the street. I'm still waiting for sunglasses with a LED screen built into them. I want some privacy while I'm walking in public. dadmonson
4-5 times a week is normal. I'm talking people who do it like 5-6 times per day. I've read the opposite. I read that masturbating a lot could make it difficult for you to ejaculate during intercourse since you are use to the tight grip of your hand. Any first hand experiences??? themadkat
There's actually good evidence for that one, but it's a factor of how much. Someone who masturbates several times a day will condition his body to ejaculate quickly. Wow, good thing I'm a woman then!

Jake_Ellison
Could you point me to where on the website it says they are from the church? I didn't notice any religious references. Here's one: "As we explain in the Stop Masturbation Program, shukra is the food of the body’s hormonal and immune system." Shukra, also known as Venus, seems to be the Hindu guru of the Asuras.(those are gods btw.) Apparently, he has something to do with the planet Venus-hence the name. All very scientific, of course. Wow, I guess there's no need to go into the part where they insist on calling straight sex "normal". That's a relief, because it would've been a week argument. Well, compared to a direct reference to a mythical creature, anyway.
