Imagine a charming character who while believes he’s a superhero, in a true first-hander manner - never let's it go too much to his head. To him those superpowers are only means to an end - of protecting someone he cares for. He is not "mixed" in character or conflicted about his values and even after he discovers that

he doesn’t really have any super powers

he continues on his noble mission with the same determination.

Imagine an uplifting story with a heart, of Pixar-ish quality (for example: incredible balance between carefully observed animal behaviour and basic human emotions), absolutely no altruism, and no environmental or socialistic propaganda. Now add to that laugh out loud (and very frequently throughout the movie)) family comedy.

All of those things you can expect from the movie Bolt.

I love it.

When I used to live in Vancouver, before we had movie theatres in our computers, I would go to the annual Vancouver Animation Festival at the Ridge. I would purposely go on a Saturday afternoon, when parents would bring their kids, and have a grand old time because the kids were not as inhibited as the adults. This was the era of Wallace & Gromit, a claymation by Nick Park about a English Inventor and his heroic dog Gromit. A Grand Day Out was the first of many thirty minute stories, that took two years to make and every time would win an Oscar. Pure Fun.

BTW, Sophia, do you know if any theatres in the Vancouver area are playing Bolt in 3D?

Yes, check movietickets.com

I wouldn't have asked if I hadn't already tried the usual suspects. Seems like movietickets, and other generic theatre sites are pretty cagey about which theatres are actually equiped to play 3D.

So, I searched for just "3D movie theatres in the Vancouver area" and found a press release that spilled the beans:

Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver, SilverCity Metropolis Cinemas, SilverCity Coquitlam Cinemas and at Colossus Langley Cinemas

The information is there. If you click on SilverCity Coquitlam Cinemas, then on Bolt, you will see that it is played in two "rooms" - one is 3D and the other is not. HERE.
