(And frankly turning it into a didactic exercise on Objectivist politics wouldn't be sufficient to make it new; it would just make it look like we are retelling Robinson with an agenda.) I don't think there should be "the" plot--every story should have its own, distinct plot, with the *setting* tying them together, not an overall meta-plot.
