Good Morning by John Legend

Good morning,

Good morning love,

It's my favorite love song,

I waited all night long,

(verse 1)

Before you get into the shower,

Before you worry about your hair,

Baby give me one more hour,

I want you to stay right there,

I don't wanna lose a moment,

I don't wanna miss a kiss,

If i could plan the perfect day, love,

Then i would start it just like this,

(Chorus)

Good morning,

Good morning love,

It's my favorite love song,

I waited all night long,

For morning,

Good morning love

Before we start the day dear,

I'm whispering in your ear,

Good morning.

(verse)

Baby how can i convince you,

Make it so you can't resist,

Whatever else you have to do now,

It can't be half as good as this,

I'll chase you underneath the sheets, love,

And i won't let you get away,

The day won't be complete, love,

Unless we get a chance to say,

(Chorus[x1])

(Bridge)

Open your eyes,

See my sun rise,

I feel you're scared,

So warm inside,

Day breaks so sweet,

When you're next to me,

So stay every night,

So each morning will be,

(Chorus)

Let's get lost together,

I will smile forever(x2),

Was morning

You Make Me Feel So Young by Frank Sinatra

You make me feel so young

You make me feel like spring has sprung

Every time I see you grin

Im such a happy individual

The moment that you speak

I want to go and play hide-and-seek

I want to go and bounce the moon

Just like a toy balloon

You and i, are just like a couple of tots

Running across the meadow

Picking up lots of forget-me-nots

You make me feel so young

You make me feel there are songs to be sung

Bells to be rung, and a wonderful fling to be flung

And even when Im old and gray

Im gonna feel the way I do today

cause you make me feel so young

Before I list some favorites of mine, let me say that to me, a good love song should be happy and deliver a romantic sense of life (both in the literal and the Randian meanings of that phrase). Some lonely rocker bemoaning the girl he lost forever may be perfect for certain emotional occasions but does not constitute a love song. Also, many of the pop song love songs are overplayed and completely lack musical talent, by either the performers or the musicians. Their chord progressions are predictable at best and leave nothing to the imagination, making me say, hey, I understand how he/she feels. Having said that, I actually find there are very few love songs in the world worth listening to.

Sarah Brightman/ Jose Cura -

English translation of lyrics

Sarah Brightman/ Alessandro Safina - "Sarai Qui" (Cover originally by Faith Hill)

Eric Johnson - "Song for Lynette"

Faith Hill - "Beautiful"

Joe Satriani - "Always With Me, Always With You"

Jonny Lang - "Touch"

Don't bother searching these on YouTube if I didn't already link them. Either the versions are terrible or covers or something (example: the Jonny Land rap remake - gross).

Tsprat, Satriani's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yc8xyL0Xxo, seconded! My link is to a live version that I like even better than the video; he plays it slower and, I think, more perfectly. Such a gorgeous song, and so obviously a love song even without any words. On this video, take a look at Joe's face at around 2:50. He's a man in love -- not sure if it's with a girl, his guitar, his music, or his life; maybe all of the above.

I have the live version. It's from his album "Timeless." I think that's his best album, and you're right, he is always more on his game when he plays live.

Philosophically speaking, he probably is in love with his life or a woman, though he does love music a great deal too. Politically, the guy is sort of a socialist weasel, but as is the case with most guitar players (myself excluded), they think with their emotions all too often.

There are so many... but I will pick one.

I agree with you. There are so many. One of my new favorites is by Cole Porter: De-lovely. I think it's charming, playful, plus I challenge anyone to listen to it and try to resist smiling at least once during the song. :D It's been redone so many times, but Alanis Morissette I think did a decent job.

Don Henley of the Eagles wrote some fine love songs (in his hard-ass way).

But my all time favourite, that's stood the test of time, is "The Rose", by Bette Midler. Also sung by Janis Joplin.

'Some say love it is a river, that drowns the tender reed, some say love it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed...........................

Just remember, in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows, lies the seed that with the sun's love,in the spring, becomes the rose. '

Since I've been listening to Jim Croce lately, he wrote a love song that I love. Croce was a folk singer who was great at writing songs in that genre and he had a superb voice to go with it -- he died in a plane accident while very young. An example of a song he wrote is "Bad Leroy Brown", and he had several other big hits. He is one of my favorite folk singers.

The song is only two minutes, thirty seconds long.

A couple of my favorites:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcN5Vaqd9sg, by The Sundays

The lyrics are beautiful, and Harriet Wheeler has the voice of an angel:

Do some people wind up with the one that they adore

In a heart-shaped hotel room its what a heart is for

The bubble floats so madly will it stay sky-high?

Hello partner, kiss your name bye-bye

Ooh sometimes...

Romantic piscean seeks angel in disguise

Chinese-speaking girlfriend big brown eyes

Liverpudlian lady, sophisticated male

Hello partner, tell me love cant fail

& its you and me in the summertime

We'll be hand in hand down in the park

With a squeeze & a sigh & that twinkle in your eye

& all the sunshine banishes the dark

Do some people wind up with the one that they abhor

In a distant hell-hole room, the third world war

But all I see is films where colourless despair

Meant angry young men with immaculate hair

Ooh sometimes...

Get up a voice inside says theres no time for looking down

Only a pound a word & youre talking to the town

But how do you coin the phrase though that will set your soul apart

Just to touch a lonely heart

& its you & me in the summertime

We'll be hand down in the park

With a squeeze & a sigh & that twinkle in your eye

& all the sunshine banishes the dark

& its you I need in the summertime

As I turn my white skin red

Two peas from the same pod yes we are

Or have I read too much fiction?

Is this how it happens?

How does it happen?

Is this how it happens?

Now, right now

I've always thought this was a perfect song for a wedding:

Precious love

I'll give to you

blue as the sky and deep in the

eyes of a love so true

beautiful face

you make me feel

light on the stairs and lost in the

air of a love so real

And you can count on me girl

you can count on my love woman

you can count on me baby

you can count on my love to see you through

Emerald eyes and china perfume

caught on the wheel and lost in

the feel of a love so soon

ruby lips

you make my song

into the night and saved by the light

of a love so strong

CHORUS:

See you thru

....oooh

you can count on me girl

you can count on my love
