EC
I went to Border's Books yesterday. There's usually about two or three copies of AS at a normal store. I swear there were about 20 or so copies there yesterday and the one's in front had all obviously been rifled through. There were more copies of AS then any other book. Just thought it was cool to share.

khaight
Demand is up. A few months ago it was reported that in the first 3 weeks of January Atlas Shrugged sold three times more copies than during the equivalent period the prior year. Most people -- myself included -- thought this was a temporary phenomenon, and that sales would soon regress back towards the mean. Last night on HBL, Harry Binswanger stated that the sales numbers for the first quarter of 2009 are in and they indicate that sales of Atlas Shrugged are up four times over the first quarter of the prior year. I haven't been able to find independent confirmation of this claim, so take it with an appropriate grain of salt. If true, it indicates that the factors behind the increased sales are both more persistent and greater in magnitude than previously thought.
