Egoist Blog
By Martin Lindeskog from EGO,cross-posted by MetaBlog Four years ago I debated with myself if I should vote in the European Parliament election. That time I ended up voting for the new Euro-skeptic party called the "June List." This time I am thinking of voting for the new "anti-Lisbon Treaty" party called Libertas. My own advice on what to drink is something sweet, light, easy to swallow, has more fruit than character and most of all has a good looking bottle - just like many of the candidates! Clawg
Mmh... the german Libertas party recommends to vote for some christian, socialist party ("AUF") because they want the people to decide on the Lisbon treaty.... hardly a good choice. My vote goes for some libertarian party, "FDP". Simply to nullify a leftist vote. This is how the Left tries to win voters here: Edited May 28, 2009 by Clawg
Randroid
Same here. I have thought about it for quite a while, and the only parties who are openly against the Lisbon treaty and the EU are practically un-electable and morally repulsive. I don't think there is anything freedom-appreciating Europeans can do about the Lisbon treaty for the time being. Except waiting for Atlas to Shrug. I will also vote for what passes for a libertarian party in Germany, the FDP.
Clawg
Only the Republican Party ("Republikaner") wants to actually exit the EU. But that's just another christian, nationalist party. Well, elections are just polls. Change comes through education, not by voting.
