I have no idea what this book is like, but I figured some folks here might be interested that there's a new book about Rand: Rand and the World she made, by Anne C. Heller.

If anyone has read it, comments are welcome, of course.

I don't know how it'll be, but this author seems to be of the impression that Rand is responsible for the mess we're in.

"The books have attracted three generations of readers, shaped the foundation of the Libertarian movement, and influenced White House economic policies throughout the Reagan years and beyond." Bold added.

I don't think that blurb is blaming Rand for anything. I think she had important influence like that, even if many of those influenced took what they wanted and ditched the rest. Really, that blurb is just advertising the fact that this biography is about someone influential...so people should buy it.

I haven't, but it was discussed quite a bit in over at NoodleFood a while ago.
None of the comments were from readers. That is easily explained: I did not realize until now that the book is only going to be released in October. Edited by softwareNerd

Like sNerd, I do not see the problem with this statement. First, I don't read it as pushing blame on Rand for the current crisis at all. Second, everything said in the sentence is factually true. The key is that "influencing" White House policy means literally just that; it does not mean that the White House literally followed Rand's philosophy.
