You jackass -

I hope your pathetic pseudo-rational mind has the honor to defend this statement. I better not see another stupid attack-ridden remark come from you, as this would only aid me in catching up to the level that you think you're at in understanding Objectivism.

Is this really how you present yourself? About whom do you think we learn something from the above?

Regarding treaties, please remember that the Founding Fathers included a clause that made treaties the law of the land. At the time the countires they had in mind were mainly the Europeans, who weren't socialists. There are a lot of practical legal matters that need to be worked out for the free flow of goods, e.g., settling disputes over quality of goods, loss of shipments, etc. Laws in different countries need to be integrated. Please look at these issues in a broader context and their history.

I am disappointed that you chose to ignore my last two posts. If you had considered them seriously we might be able to more forward.

New article by Peter Schiff on Money Morning.

Consumers and governments must spend less so their savings can be made available to businesses for capital investments. Businesses, in turn, will produce more products and employ more people – increasing domestic prosperity. However, rather than allowing a painful cure to return our economy to health, the government prefers to numb the voting public with a toxic saline-drip of deficit spending and cheap money.

The primary factor that enables our government to peddle economic snake oil is the dollar’s unique role as the world’s reserve currency, and our creditors’ willingness to preserve its status. By buying up dollars and loaning them back to us through U.S. Treasury debt, productive countries give American politicians carte blanche to play Santa Claus.

By the way, a new Schiff For Senate website is up, and he has been making his rounds across CT. Check it out at http://www.schiffforsenate.com

Peter Schiff speaks about national defense and his foreign policy views at a recent meeting with supporters in Woodbury, CT:

He starts at around 2:00.

"I might have gone into Afghanistan to get bin Laden, but I would not have occupied the country."

“If [the Iranians] are really building nuclear weapons... If we really think that, we tell the Iranians, this is where we think these weapons are... if they don't let [our inspectors] in, then we just blow the place up... We don't have to send all these ground troops in there. We don't have to occupy these countries."

I'm VERY happy that this video is finally surfacing.

Thats a pretty awesome thing for Peter to have said.

For anyone in the political spectrum to say, really! Who else has that position these days? It's ether "kumbayah" or "force them to be free by permanent military occupation".

If this stance gets widely publicized, I'd be surprised if it didn't resonate strongly with the public.

Article

This is from when he just started running, though, so the numbers have probably shifted a lot. I think the last Rasmussen poll said he was basically even with Dodd, but I don't know how much that is just due to people not voting for Dodd rather than voting FOR Schiff. That doesn't help him against more well-known Republicans in the primary.

Foley's no longer in it. Just McMahon, Simmons, Schiff. Dodd is likely to be defeated.

Schiff has set up an internet-based phone system to allow volunteers from all over the country to call Republican voters in CT. It sounds pretty high-tech and intuitive, and anyone can get involved (which may be good or bad).

At the moment, Peter's in third place out of three. Two candidates have dropped out. However, he has been hitting the pavement hard, going to all the local RTC meetings in CT, and working on launching his online phone-banking system. He's going to get out there and really make himself heard in the next few months, both through the 15,000 volunteers calling homes for him, and the commercials and ad space he's about to purchase.

His issues page was just launched today, and can be found here: http://schiffforsenate.com/?q=issues

Are you volunteering to do phone calls? I'm thinking about it. I was involved in Facebook advertising for the original Schiff2010 campaign run by Chad Peace.

I've already done a few! The system is quite sophisticated and intelligent. I think it's really going to help.

We should all thank you for your efforts, if you were part of Chad's team! Thanks to your help, we have a true capitalist running for senate in my home state. I had brief correspondence with him a few times and worked on the issues page of his website, but regardless of my short conversations with the guy, I know for certain he was a fired up individual with a lot of drive. He did good work!

Yeah, he definitely had the energy of ten men.

Peter discusses foreign policy some more:

Starts around 2:25

Edit: At around 5:30, he says some great things regarding the Patriot Act.

Edit#2: At around 8:50 he speaks in detail about Iran. He continues into part 4.
