Pat Robertson, I'd say he hit a new low

I did notice this when checking out the CIA World Fact Book on Haiti:

Roman Catholic 80%, Protestant 16% (Baptist 10%, Pentecostal 4%, Adventist 1%, other 1%), none 1%, other 3%

note: roughly half of the population practices voodoo

Are you suggesting no such pact was made with The Devil? Where is your proof that this didn't never not happen?

:D

This reminds me of someone's observation that Man creates God in his image. Robertson's idea of God is a serial mass-murderer who kills scores of people wantanly because of the sins of some. Sounds more like a reflection of Robertson's sense of life.

I don't know....Ever read the old testament? He may be closer to the truth than many Christians.

Robertson is a crack-pot. I saw his comments replayed on one of the morning news shows and he just comes off as a loon. If one applies the slightest bit of logic and critical thinking to his statements, they fall apart. I'm hoping that even the religious people in this country can see that.

Unfortunately he is head of one of the wealthiest Christian lobby groups in America, and the Republican party refuses to denounce him, because they know so many of their base suckle at the teet of this ignoramus and his vacuous preaching.

It's not the curse of god on the Haiti people, rather it was mother nature and she unleashed on a very tribalistic-socialist culture that lives in a poverty of its own making. If the haitian people were to embrace reason and capitalism the loss and chaos would be far less than it is now.

WOW...Wow.

What is the pact Robertson is talking about? Is he just saying the removal of imperial French constituted a pact with the devil, or am I missing some piece of history?

It's like when the Jews killed Christ. Remember that? No? Robertson does. True story.

Sure, the Haitian problem is mostly their own doing, as well as the socialist antagonists like the United Nations. Whenever there are high populations of poor people and poorly built buildings in natural hazard areas, the chance of a major natural disaster is high, even when the magnitude of the event is not as high compared to other similar events that have occurred throughout the world. A direct hit of a 7.0 earthquake on San Fransisco would not produce as many fatalities; however, the cost of the damage, in dollar amounts, could possibly be higher compared to the Port-au-Prince earthquake.

Hopefully a state of some type of normalcy occurs in the earthquake affected area of Haiti, before hurricane season arrives, in about four months. But that's just a hope, and I know it's likely not going to happen due to their lack of just about everything that would assist them with a quick recovery. If things are still atrocious there and a hurricane (or more than one) strikes, the recovery will be slowed and the dollars in foreign aid will rise even higher. On top of the foreign aid spending, attempts to immigrate illegally to the US, through Miami, will also add to the cost.

Robertson is wrong, says Danny Glover, Yaweh had nothing to do with it; Gaia did. I think this is the perfect time for a no holds-barred, pay-per-view deathmatch over who gets to claim the Hatians.
