flatlander
Unfortunately these minor Ellsworth Tooheys are not saying anything that is not standard Canadian political boilerplate. If you have a strong stomach please read and comment. There are places to comment at each of the ten parts of the story. I have two initial reactions to a story like this. 1) "I will stop the motor of the world!" 2) Battle stations!
2046
I like the fact that the "abolish taxes" and "establish free trade" people are winning the poll with 32 and 23% whilst the "give to the poor" and "protect the environment" people are at 2 and 6%. That Green Party person's article was horrible. "Forget the GPD," "stop trying to have economic growth," no thanks, I don't have a death wish. Chris.S
I wish I saw this when it was first posted. It is pretty heartening that "abolish taxes" is first place at 34% of the vote, but I wonder what sort of demographic reads that website (this is the first I've heard of it). Gives me hope that a career in politics campaigning for freedom wouldn't be wasted.

It seems like she is redirecting audiences focus by tying economy and environmental issues together. Well, I do think environmental sustainability plays a major role in improving our living standard, but it is irresponsible to simply put that preserving the environment can fix the economy.
