draken12
Which country today has the best culture and would be the best country to live in?
Bastian Hayek
The US has still the best culture, and you will certainly find the most Objectivists there.. In all brutal honesty, however, the US will go through very difficult times and if I could I would rather live in Alberta, Canada or New Zealand. SapereAude
Regarding New Zealand, have you lived there in the past? I thought as you did and moved there for a couple years. It was a huge mistake. Lovely country to visit, but totally on the deep end of socialism & "progressivism".
Bastian Hayek
No, I haven't lived there. I was considering what I read about New Zealand, being relatively pro-free market even under Labour, and now the ACT is in the government. Furthermore, the Heritag Economic Freedom Index ranks them consistently high: http://www.heritage.org/index/Ranking.aspx The Ease of Doing Business is second only to Singapore http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ease_of_Doing_Business_Index#Ranking Edited June 25, 2010 by Bastian Hayek

Since Helen Brown fell from power some things have definitely improved to be sure but the way NZ is governed you would always be one vote away from a return to form and even worse than before. Of particular concern is the Moari issue which is a constant social & fiscal threat. Peter Cresswell has a good blog covering the economic, social & political situation in NZ from a Capitalist perspective. All the recent blogs are World Cup oriented but you'll find useful things in the archive. http://pc.blogspot.com/ edited to add link I forgot to post O_0 Edited June 26, 2010 by QuoVadis
Bastian Hayek
Thanks for the link. I will have a look at it. As far as I can see NZ has always been ranked high in the Heritage ranking, even under Labour. Why do you think Heritage has this opinion? Which country do you think is best? draken12
I was wondering how it would be to live in Singapore, has anyone been there?
